While visually the picture and description matched for the most part, when trying to add on to the next step of building, child had to re-read (several times) and involve an adult to decipher the instructions. Even the adult was confused and had to go back to the beginning to understand where the challenge was. Presentation of the product's box was sleek and functional where you can reuse the box and store the pieces inside as you are working through the build. Organization of each section of the pieces were in order as noted in manual. He spread out the building over 3 days, but totally could've built it in 1, since he really enjoyed the process. The finished car has a lot of detail, and it was really great that no stickers were needed! The graphics are already printed on the pieces, which was super nice because it's always hard to get those on perfectly straight and then they always tend to peel at the corners. The car has fun, movable parts like the doors, trunk and engine, and just looks very sharp and cool. I love the colors. The couple of things that my son pointed out that could be better were that he wished the pieces snapped together 100%. He showed me and it seemed to have a very small gap. Also, he said that the finished car is fragile, so be careful not to put any weight on it or it'll break apart. Overall, this is a really fun kit for older builders! The instruction booklet it almost museum quality and, indeed, my 9 year old has been chomping at the bit to hang the pictures in his room. You get not only the cover, but a full page spread and one more to boot! While it took me about four hours (amid interruptions from said, nine-year-old, it only took him two minutes to knock both front wheel off ... and this is the design fault. The small peg used to attach the wheels is hollow and breaks WAY too easily. Perhaps this was intended to sit on a shelf, but not in this household! We play! So, overall, while I love the glitter in the Lego bricks, which adds a ton to the styling, I do not like how crucial parts are either not built tough or where the engine has only ONE attach point. I don't get that part. You have to almost break the trunk apart to get the NOS system out (something my son enjoyed but I did not enjoy reefing outta there) but the engine has barely anything attaching it to the chassis. What is the point of a four peg brick on the bottom with only one attach point in the the middle on the top? Hmmm ... What this toy lacks in construction it gains big points on styling. The last bummer was ordering replacement parts. Perhaps it's because this toy is not in major production, but when I attempted to order online, it could not &quot;find&quot; the part based on the part number IN THE CATALOG. That's weird. I ended up calling C/S and the rep was AMAZING! She listened very well to our problem and when I asked for FOUR replacement axles, she didn't even baulk at my request. I am hoping that we'll have many more hours of enjoyment with this toy once they arrive and are installed. While it's bigger than our other Lego Technics, it's still a great addition. Should the axles fail again, I may just drill them out and put something metal in there are a replacement. He went home and immediately started assembly. This is a more complex set, so wouldn&rsquo;t recommend for new builders. He took several days to put it together. The results were so cool the working trunk, doors really make this car cool and interactive. It has been put on his wall of fame along with other beloved sets. This is a model that includes great details such as a removable engine and trunk you can open that will reveal a nitrous canister. It has soft rubber tires that makes the car glide, though I suspect you will love it for your display case, at slightly larger than 9 inches you will be able to enjoy this quality piece. First off, this model has over 600 pieces. So this isn't something that can be done in 20-30 minutes unless you're a serious builder. With that said, it is an amazing builder's set that has some pretty cool details in it. The instructions are in a big book that are easy to understand. The pieces are easily distinguishable from each other and we (my 10 year old daughter and I) had no problem keeping them separate. The finished build looked almost exactly like what was on the box and it was easy to use that picture to make sure we were building it right as we got closer to the end. My boys haven&rsquo;t played with the finished product. I think they had in mind to display it instead of playing with it. It does seem that piece may fall off when your playing with it. I noticed a couple of times while my boys were building it a few of the pieces required a good squeeze to get the pieces to lock together. Getting the engine into the car was a little difficult because it was such a tight fit, I had to help in this area. The pieces held strong and had good color. It was comparable to the other brick building brand. The instructions were laid out well but the manual itself seemed excessively large, with many blank spaces. The design of the car was excellent with working hinges and quality decals. The exhaust was challenging to attach but overall it was a fun build. I sat down with my 10 year old daughter that loves building things. I have to say the quality of it all is excellent. The directions for me were easy to fallow. My daughter did have some trouble understanding them. It took her a min, but she figured it out after a min or two. I wanted to see if she was able to understand them. Once she was able to figure it out she moved quickly on building the car. Other than that it was fun watching her build it and she enjoyed it as well. Love the fact that the wheels are soft rubber and it rolls nice!!
