This review contains my own, honest opinions based on observing my children playing with the toy. My kids, ages 8 and under love open-ended toys which allow them to use their imagination and creativity. This toy was therefore an instant hit. We received the toy over a week ago and my kids are still playing with it daily. They are using it in their pretend play to construct buildings etc with their other Mega Bloks and playing with just the workbench on its own. I thought that only my toddler would be interested in this toy and was pleasantly surprised to see even my 8-year-old play with it. This is a great toy for kids (boys and girls) ages 2 and up IMHO. I will recommend it to relatives and friends for their kids and would purchase as a gift. The product is mediocre quality but my 2 yr old and 4 yr old fight over it because they both want to play with it. It&rsquo;s a good product for kids to improve fine motor skills. He enjoys showing his brother what he can't do with his blocks that fit together perfectly while using his tools. These are big enough for my baby to grip and stick together. You can actually hammer and screw things into the lid. They can build things with the blocks and some of the blocks have pictures on them. It comes with a hammer and screwdriver for them to use with it. The best part is that it all goes into the container and the lid has a carry handle and latches that keep it shut. We have megabloks already (a big bag of them) but something about the cute tool setup, the bluprint, and the different pieces captured her imagination. She liked building with it but was a little frustrated at the fit of the pieces (however, that's the point of these blocks- that even little hands can get them apart). Initially I though it would be too few pieces for her to make something but it held her interest well. I honestly thought it would be bigger. I got it for my 22 month old but he was too little. He basically just kept knocking it down and pulling it apart. However my 4 and 5 year old loved it. They liked how you could actually hammer and screw. I got this so he would have his own individual set of blocks. He likes to hammer things and &ldquo;help&rdquo; me build furniture, so he took right to this. My daughter helped him build it into the workbench by looking at the photo on the box, then they sat there hammering and screwing for about an hour. The other blocks are laying on the floor untouched. It has megabloks to build with, a screwdriver with some screws, a blueprint, hammer and pretend level. The screws can be screwed into the lid. There is a spot to build on top of the lid as well.
