I have some loves and some dislikes after using this pump for about three weeks, here we go: -The pump is quite small, small enough to fit in the palm of my hand and has a fabric loop that helps with portability. The battery is built in! -The pump came with two different size flanges-so awesome when you're just starting out and don't know what size to use, your nipples are changing, or you're like me and need two different sizes after a year of pumping because you have two different size nipples! Thanks, Medela for including these right out of the box!! The shape and the silicone edges of the flanges are super comfortable compared to the standard non-oval, hard plastic ones, too. -Automatically moves from stimulation/letdown phase into expression phase, very convenient for Sleepy Mommies and middle of the night pump sessions. -New design and colors of the pump and parts are so sleek and good looking. A+ on aesthetics to the design team on looking less like a medical device and more like a high-end electronic device. -This is the loudest pump I've ever used and I've had the privilege of using seven (7) different brands and types including classic plug in the wall, battery powered, portable, and 100% hands free in bra cordless styles. I pump at night in my bedroom now since the little one outgrew the bassinette and had to move to the crib in the other room. Now I pump next to my husband and this woke him up in the middle of the night because it's so loud. -My biggest frustration with the new pump design, however, is the design of the new parts. The new parts are 100% specific to Medela and cannot be substituted with other brands or manufacturers. I find this frustrating because my old adapters to wide mouth bottles do not fit in the new flange-to-bottle part and my kiddo is super picky about bottles and nipples so this is a huge disappointment. The new flange-to-bottle part is also really hard to clean. There are so many nooks and crannies for milk to get onto that have to be scrubbed if you work in an office and can't wash your parts until you get home and then your milk dries on the pump parts. The tubing is also short and not interchangeable with any other pump parts that I've used before. (I'm pretty sure it doesn't even fit with the new Medela Pump in Style which I received through my insurance). I'd like to see these pumps use universal pump parts and &quot;play nice in the sandbox&quot; within the brand and with other pump brands. Pump parts are expensive!! It has the same power and efficiency of my hospital-grade wall plug-in pump. I use this pump daily with the Medela hands free bra. The flanges are so comfortable, I don't even notice them. It's also extremely easy to clean and I love how well it works with my other Medela bottles. The convenient bag is the first pump bag I've ever seen that is actually the correct size, and trendy. Everything is very easy to pack and bring with me why we are on the go or traveling (we went on a couple of weekend trips, and it was super easy to bring with me on the trip). It comes with a USB charger, so you can charge it up and go anywhere or charge it on the go instead of being plugged up and only able to set in one spot. It allows you to be mobile which great especially if you have other kids. It works great with the pumping bras that way you are totally hands free. It does suction great, not to hard and it gets everything out. The pump is really easy to use, easy to clean too. The pieces are easy to take apart to clean and easy to put back together. I have not gotten the chance to download the Medela family app. Favorite part is the bag it is small and still fits everything needed for pumping. The only small thing is, it&rsquo;s load. All together it is a great pump. But once opening the box I was a little disappointed at it being just another battery operated pump. The design is quite sleek and is definitely portable for pumping when away from home but, it still has tubes and is not as portable as I&rsquo;d like particularly with 2 other kids running around. The Maxi Swing does have great suction and is comfortable, quiet and easy to operate. It also doesn&rsquo;t have a lot of small parts so is easy to clean. I was given that option and not forced to choose one. One thing I really liked was the easy clean system. It has a closed system so it was very efficient in what it was designed to do. Not only did I have more freedom to pump on the go but it even helped me track how much milk I was pumping and some other cool features through the app! I love the stimulation to expression and get optimal milk output. I can also carry the pump on me and walk around (chasing toddler and/or working and/or cleaning up) which is ideal as opposed to being tethered to to a seat with a chunky, loud device like last go around Plus the fact that i can carry all of my pump supplies in a bag smaller than my toddler&rsquo;s book bag is phenomenal. Bonus Bonus is the medela family app which automatically tracks my pumping sessions AND saves my milk storage if i want with reminders of when my milk is going to go bad in the fridge which is GREAT for this forgetfully busy working mama. This Medela pump was very efficient. I seemed to be able to pump a little shorter duration to get the same amount of milk than I would with my other pumps. Overall the pump is very easy to use and much easier to clean which is also another reason I&rsquo;ve since made this my go to pump! The pump still requires you to sit somewhere to pump as you are attached via tubing to the pump itself but this is similar to other pumps in the same category. The tubing could be a bit longer to allow a bit more freedom in the sense of movement while sitting but not a dealbreaker. It apparently has an app but I did not use this app. I&rsquo;m sure someone more tech savvy would like this feature. This means that you can literally pump anywhere! I have spent a total of 43 months breastfeeding and pumping with no end in sight and have used various different pumps so I have a variety of experience to compare this pump to. I will tell you it certainly measured up and blew me away. My favorite part is the bag it comes with which is an insulated backpack and easily fits all my pumping supplies and then some and it&rsquo;s cute to boot! I mainly use the pump when I am at work and away from my baby so it being easily transportable and lightweight is an essential feature for me. It can also be charged to run off battery which is important because I sometimes pump on way to or from work in car. Its not secret that the best way to empty breasts is by breastfeeding directly but when unable to do so it&rsquo;s important to have a pump that empties you efficiently&hellip; I had no problem with this pump as my shifts are 12 1/2 hours long so I am sometimes away from my baby for 15+ hours. I never had issues being fully emptied. This pump has minimal parts to clean which is quick easy and less chances of loosing or misplacing parts. I received this pump at the right time as I&rsquo;ve started to drop some feedings which has resulted in many clogged ducts. This pump has been a miracle worker for me and these clogs. I love that this pump can be used wirelessly and allows for so much freedom to move around while pumping. I also live how small it is as it&rsquo;s easy to take on the go. It&rsquo;s also very easy to keep clean. Medela has switched up their design since my last pump and there&rsquo;s less parts to clean and it&rsquo;s just overall a more sleek looking design. I&rsquo;m a big fan of the new design and its minimal parts to clean. There were a few things I wasn&rsquo;t as impressed with. The charging cord is very short, so if you have to charge it while using it because you let the battery run down, you&rsquo;re very much tied to one small area with the cord. Also, it&rsquo;s really not very quiet. It vibrates pretty loudly. It&rsquo;s not obnoxious, but it does have sound. This pump is also Bluetooth compatible with mobile devices and reports information to the Medela Family App. Because I&rsquo;m so far into my breastfeeding journey, I don&rsquo;t document my stash too much or my time. I didn&rsquo;t find this app to be too much of a help to me. It may be more helpful to a full time pumping mama, but I could do with or without it. This pump has minimal parts and is super easy to take apart to clean and then put back together. I am able to get a lot of milk out in a short amount of time. The tubing makes it super easy to switch from double to single. This pump has Bluetooth so it can connect to the Medela Family app. You can easily track baby's info, all of your pumping info, milk storage, and you have access to many articles and lactation consultants. I was able to do some chores while pumping instead of being stuck in one place. You do need to be able to lay the pump down or be able to stick the pump in a pocket. I was also able to get my normal output which was great!! I love that you could easily recharge the pump and no batteries are needed. Cleaning the pump was easy too! I also liked that I could use my other Medela bottles with the pump. The silicone ring on the pump reduces vibration noise, which makes it not quite as annoying to use as other pumps. Due to the silicone rings on the flanges, this pump has increased my supply. This ring appears to make a better seal increasing the supply and also make it much more comfortable and has been my favorite part of the pump Since there are not a lot of parts to this pump it is very easy to setup, use and clean. My only quip with this pump is the lack of the dedicated timer and strength settings showing on the pump. Yes there is the Medela Family app that allows you to see this information. I just am not that big of a fan of the app and definitely not a fan of having to bring my phone out to see these simple numbers that could have been included on this product. I absolutely LOVE how effective it is at expressing my milk. I can get almost double the amount of milk in half the time in comparison to the other two pumps I own. The pump also seems to be more gentle. I have less nipple discomfort during and after use. If I'm wearing a robe or a loose sweater with pockets, I can slip the pump on and be completely mobile throughout the house. This has helped cut my morning routine in half as I can pump what's left after my daughter feeds while I continue to get ready for work. I haven't found another way to be fully mobile with this though I'm sure you could attach the pump to a belt. The bottles and pump parts are very easy to clean without a lot of nooks and crannies for milk or water to hide. The app is a nice added feature as it makes it easier to keep track of your milk production throughout the day. The only reason I did not give this pump 5 stars is because I wouldn't feel comfortable using this pump in public as it would be challenging not to expose yourself while putting it on and taking it off and it would be obvious under your clothes. If you are planning to use it in the privacy of your home or are less concerned about possible exposure I would 100% recommend this pump! I have used numerous breastpumps through my time of breastfeeding my two children, and the Swing Maxi is one of the best. I will list the pros and cons of the pump. Pros: the pump is cordless, that&rsquo;s right, you don&rsquo;t have to be plugged into a wall! The battery life lasted me days while pumping at work, so I didn&rsquo;t even have to charge it every day. The pump is also very quiet. I work in a hospital where our pump rooms are highly utilized, and I almost got nervous people would think I was not actually pumping because there is no way you would be able to hear the pump due to how quiet it is. The pump is very efficient and I found pumped more milk than many of my other electric pumps. The flanges are much more comfortable than other pump flanges due to the silicone rim, which I also felt created a better seal. Cons: there is no digital display on the pump. You can use the app the pump links to on your phone to see how long you&rsquo;re pumping, but I do like it better when a pump has an actual display screen to let you know the length of your pumping session and pump setting, versus using an app. The tubing is both a blessing a curse. The tubing is connected, so one tube connects to both flanges. This is nice to not have to mess with multiple tubes, however, the tubing is connected to both pumps. So if you&rsquo;re trying to disconnect the tubing from one pump, you risk yanking to hard and knocking over the other bottle of pumped milk since it&rsquo;s all connected. I learned the hard way this is why it&rsquo;s so important to use the milk stands the pump comes with. I love that it has one piece tubing and that you just put one end into the plug if you want to single pump. It is quiet unless sitting on a table or desk that is wood because the vibrations against the wood are loud especially when it is on high. If you sit it on cloth, it is much quieter. It has great suction. I love, love, love the pump bag. It is small and lightweight--yeah. It is a backpack and the straps are very easy to adjust. It has an insulated pocket for your milk and two inside pockets for the plug and the pump itself at least that is what I put in them. I was used to the timer on my other pump so using an app to monitor breastfeeding was a change. It is easy to use. The only con for me was the button is really easy to press. It was quite easy to clean and managed to pump more milk than I usually got with seemingly less effort. The pump is smaller than plug-in pumps and it&rsquo;s cord-free so I&rsquo;m able to move around my house getting things done while I pump. It could be a bit quieter, especially when I set it down on hard surfaces as the pumping rattles it. I&rsquo;m also not sure what the hanging loop is meant to hang from.the parts are easy to clean as well. I do wish there was a timer on the pump. You are able to connect to the Medela app via Bluetooth, but you need to do that prior to pumping and mine logged me out mid-pump when I navigated to another app (which, let&rsquo;s be honest, you&rsquo;re going to do while pumping).
