The surprise is the fun. The product and the packaging allows them to have a ton of fun with the surprise portion of opening the product while minimizing the waste in packaging. It's also really nice to able to ensure what was in the package while maintaining the fun of the surprise by giving them these. Our youngest are obsessed with Spidey and His Amazing friends and the scale of these work well with other toys they already have. They've only been playing with these for a few days, but they seem to hold up well. They are molded plastic and don't have moving parts, which is perfect for water play in the tub.
