It&rsquo;s a good concept but missed the spot in terms of repeat performance. Children put bubble fizz dust, wrote the name on the naming scroll and placed it on the top of cauldron and covered with fizz dust. The cauldron is protected with paper on which is said &ldquo;do not remove&rdquo;. Then they filled potion bottle with water and poured over bubble fizz dust. Written name and the protective paper melted away. They felt disappointed about what&rsquo;s the point to write name if it&rsquo;s simply melts away. There they got the gem lid and opened it, and revealed their secret surprise. It is a soft toy with the gem on the head and big eyes, fluffy tail and hairy body. There is a magic wand which they put in icy or warm water, it does change from yellow to pink and otherwise. Putting cold or warm water on the gems both cauldron and toy colour changes to dark pink or orangey. In instruction it says that toy&rsquo;s tail and icon on the tummy changes colour if you rub it with warm palms however no matter how warm and long you rub it doesn&rsquo;t change. They put the toy on the heater, the gem on the head changed colour quite fast but tail takes long time to change colour. Then by instruction it says to fill up half of potion bottle with water and add the colour surprise powder. So water becomes orange colour and it&rsquo;s called magical elixir. However children asked what is the use of this water. The most exciting feature (and the only one) is revealing the toy inside cauldron. Children carry the toy with them, play with it as a simple soft toy and brush its hair. The whole idea of this magic surprise doesn&rsquo;t work as expected, to follow instruction is so exciting for children however in the end they feel disappointed. My daughter has been playing with it constantly since she opened it. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. This one is bigger and allows two potions to make. We loved how this potion was like a chemical reaction and got them really interested. The instructions were very easy for my six year old to follow and they loved naming the Teddy they received. Fang (the Teddy) has a few magical colouring changing parts which the kids like to play with. The container can be use for other potions once you have finished, mine usually fill it with colourful water. Oh just a note: all the items are in the cauldron you need to do your potions following the instructions and you will get to them in time. The pot itself is quite small but I suppose that's less waste. Everything is inside the pot and you create a fizz powder that is only single use and it's mixed together with the wand which is supplied and it eventually reveals a small cuddly mixie toy. When you lift the lid you are given a fizz packet and a cute jug to fill with water. The process is kind of cute as it bubbles and removes the paper top revealing the stuffed animal inside. My daughter did enjoy the process of discovering what was inside. My problem is you are left with mushie wet paper from the top and no real way to clean out the cauldron. We ended up throwing the cauldron away as we got frustrated trying to clean it. It would be nice if the bottom opened up or something to help.
