My daughter had her immunizations and we monitored her temperature with the forehead scan. It is convenient how it lights up red or green based on the temperatures. My husband also used the forehead monitor one day when he was not feeling well. It reads the temperature really quick. Overall, I like the thermometer. I do not know if there is a need for rhe setting to check the temperature via ear. I have not used it yet. Two it is very easy to clean. I like the built in light which helps to see when you are checking on your child's temperature. Three the forehead feature keeps me from waking up a sick child in the middle of the night to take their temperature. And last but not least the Pulse Rate monitor is a BONUS. I would highly recommend this thermometer or any other thermometer coming from this name brand because they are easy to use and you don't have to wrestle your child down to take their temperature. I didn't think it was accurate and used a rectl thermometer which consistently gave a temp of 102.00. Scary that a thermometer can be this far off. After a bit of research I decided on this one because of its features and the option to use either the forehead and ear so you can get a very accurate reading. When I first got it I was a bit overwhelmed at how high tech it was but after reading the directions I realized it was very simple to use. It came just in time for cold season so I got to put it to use right away. The best part about it is how quick it reads. I remember having to hold down my first born baby for what felt like an eternity to make sure we had a somewhat accurate reading. But this now took literally seconds to read.
