I was suprised at how long it took my son to build this (and the size of the instruction manual). He estimates he spent about 3 hours building, and for the most part he thought it was a great design. He told me he wouldn't be rebuilding it if he didn't need to (time and some pieces were hard to take a part) and that it would be good to display. A couple pieces he said he would have designed differently and the head wasn't very secure once placed. However, he raved about the motion features that allowed it to roll/paddle its flippers and the motion piece that allowed its kneck movement and the ability to open and close its mouth. My boys love posing these figurines (we have a few different sets/Pok&eacute;mon) and making them battle against each other with their motion moves- rendering much stronger body slams. water pulses, and ice beams! Some pieces were difficult even for me to snap together, and I had to redo a few parts when we'd accidentally pop it off while trying to attach another piece. I like how the instructions include color coded dots to help you figure out where each piece should be placed. The size is impressive, it makes my coffee mugs look small! It's pretty much to scale compared to our Eevee and Eeveelutions, so that's a fun bonus for my girls playing with it. The head turns smoothly, the wheel work well as long as you ensure all the pieces are snapped completely in place. Its recommended for age 8 years plus. My 9 years thoroughly enjoyed building this but needed a lot of support as it&rsquo;s was quite fiddly in parts . It took in total 3-4 hours to build but would have taken longer without any adult help. The large instruction manual gives you an easy to read and step by step instructions which children can follow which is pictorial with the blocks in clearly labelled bags. The bricks are high quality with vibrant colour. Once completed the pokemon Lapras can move forward and backwards where the legs move. It&rsquo;s head can also move freely and easily by twisting the red wheel on its back . My child loved the movement and it offers lots of play value after the build. I would highly recommend for anyone who enjoys building with bricks and pokemon. They had a blast building it and loved that they had a moving Pokemon that they could pretend was a pet. It was easy for them to build and lots of fun. There are a few glitches with it though. She has built a lot of them and always enjoys it. This Lapras set is a good size. It took her two days to complete. There were a lot of steps but it is not difficult. After assembled, it seems sturdy. A lot of the parts articulate. He can open his mouth, move flippers and the back knob moves his head. If you are looking for a lego set to challenge your kids and have fun this set will do just that! This set really challenged my daughter because it was a bit hard to built as she said &quot;if you mess up even with just one piece you could mess the whole thing up and you have to restart&quot; so she had to be putting attention to what she was doing. This set was also fun since it's build with motion. The head, fins, and tail move as you slide it, making this lego set fun and innovative. Lastly, The pieces are sturdy and hold well together, this is important since is a set that promotes movement. It offered a welcome challenge with easy-to-follow instructions that kept us on track. The addition of moving parts is a nice touch to make it more playable over static brick sets. The model ended up being about 8 inches tall which is perfect for displaying and playing. My set seemed to accidentally be packed with two sets of the same eye pieces causing one to appear upside down.
