I was thinking he could grow into it over the winter as an indoor activity. However my son put it up right away and within a day my grandson learned to climb the ladder and sit down at the top and get his legs out in front and then slide down! He doesn't need any help, just a watchful eye nearby in case he loses his focus or balance as he climbs and sits down. Yesterday he climbed it with one hand while the other hand held his blankie! This we are going to say &quot;No&quot; to this so he doesn't fall. But he did make it up there. Now the youngest does &quot;stick&quot; to it like another person said but i chalk that up to he's not wearing anything but a diaper. We bring it inside when it is raining out and use it in the house. It was easy to assemble, took only a few minutes. He climbed up the ladder and tried to swing his legs over so he could go down the slide. The slide is so narrow and the handles are so small//short that it was difficult to do. I had to hold onto the slide so it wouldn't tip. I helped him get positioned on the slide and he attempted to slide down. I say &quot;attempted&quot; because he stuck all the way down. Made several attempts, but the slide is not slick. Impossible to slide! What fun is that? I'm taking it back! I do not recommend this product. My two year old, who is not that tall, is too big already. Invest in a bigger, long slide. A little on the higher price end, (would have preferred the 25-30$ range), but the slide is worth it. Easy assembly- all you do is unfold and it is ready to go out the box. Fold it back up for storage. The plastic is sturdy and vibrantly colored. We use it for indoor play in a very small living room but I'm sure it is just as good for use outside. The dip in the slide provides just enough thrill for my daredevil daughter when we got It for her a month ago at 15 months. She can climb the playground unassisted (but under watchful eye) so she can climb the 2 steps with ease.
