Her friends&rsquo; kids had outgrown this play slide and a few other outdoor toys and asked my co-worker if she wanted to use them for her kids. The answer to that question of course being, YES! So my co-worker used her husbands&rsquo; truck to pick-up this play slide, along with the other toys from Little Tikes, to take home. On her way home, she had to drive over a very long and very narrow bridge and had noticed several cars passing her and honking..... she thought that was odd, but just smiled and waved back at them. It wasn't until she had stopped to pay the toll that a man in the car behind her got out of his vehicle to let her know that the slide, along with the other three toys in the back of her truck, had flown out of the truck and hit SEVERAL cars. While the cars that these toys had hit did suffer some damage....NOTHING FROM THE SLIDE/TOYS HAD BROKEN OFF! We went with little tikes because we knew it would last through any future kids. We quickly learned this slide was not ideal for our sons &quot;first&quot; slide. The height is good, so 2 stairs for a toddler are perfect. How ever the top of the slide where the child sits down needs to be wider. My toddler is very small for his age and doesn't have enough room to safely wiggle around to be in the right position (like if one of his legs is stuck behind him or under). Also, the handles should be taller, they are just a little higher than his legs when he is sitting up there making it very easy to tip. Unfortunately, my husband through the box away other wise I would return this and get a climber or something but I guess we are stuck with this one. Our four-year old grandkids loved it. An adult sat along side because they played by sliding, jumping off the slide and generally having a wild time as they took turns. The 18 mo old was lifted onto and assisted down and thought she has quite the big girl wanting her turn with the others. But here's the reason I wrote: my daughter stated when she saw the Little Tikes slide that she had almost ordered the same one but didn't because of a review stating the handles didn't snap in securely. Well, when our slide was hastily assembled so the older kids could romp only one of our handles seemed to snap in securely. I had already pointed this out to my husband and we were planning to drill and add a screw to fix the problem when he studied the situation and snapped the second handle in and it has held ever since. So the slide handles are not a problem. However, something about this thinner plastic (which is shiny in appearance, rather than the thicker, duller plastic of some others) is very sticky for lack of a better word... when my poor son tried to use this slide for the first time, in shorts, he didn't even make it six inches before stopping completely. I was thinking he could grow into it over the winter as an indoor activity. However my son put it up right away and within a day my grandson learned to climb the ladder and sit down at the top and get his legs out in front and then slide down! He doesn't need any help, just a watchful eye nearby in case he loses his focus or balance as he climbs and sits down. Yesterday he climbed it with one hand while the other hand held his blankie! This we are going to say &quot;No&quot; to this so he doesn't fall. But he did make it up there.
