My 2 year old loves it! As soon as she saw the box sitting on our front porch she was super excited. It was a little bit of a pain to put together,especially with an impatient toddler. Once we got it together we took it out for a test drive. The handle is great but is a little too low for parents to use. I'm a little on the short side so it would be a little uncomfortable for taller parents. I love the removable floorboard which makes it easy to keep little ones feet from getting in the way. It is quick and easy to remove so little ones can use their feet to move around. My 7 year old is a little jealous that he can't ride around in it. They do package the hardware in individual bags, and they also provide you with top hat tools - which is a huge help. The directions for assembly are clear and easy to follow. For the most part it is a one person job. There is a part of the process where having someone to apply pressure is beneficial, that comes into play when you are assembling the roof of the car. Most of the pieces slide into place very easy, with little pressure. Assembling the wheels was easy, and they label the axels, and the bottom.of the cart with L and R so you do not get confused. You can put in the foot rest, or not. I left mine out because my child is big enough that he can reach. There is a key that the little one can turn and the gas cap opens. There is also a horn for little ones to beep. My little guy played for hours. I remember having one when I was a kid and I was so excited to get one for my daughter now. She is almost 2 and has been having a blast driving around in it. Assembly was fairly easily, it took my husband about a half hour. The car seems durable and rolls well. I love the optionable bottom that we put in when we want to push her around the block. My nephew also uses this and he is 1. He has a harder time driving it so he either sits in it and pretends to drive or we put in the optional bottom and push him. It is one of the few brands that is still made well and made here in the United States. The kids were super excited to have their dad build the car. It was pretty easy to build. The parts were all in good condition and the directions were logical and easy to follow. There was just one little issue with the stickers not matching the picture and not really sure where to place them but we figured it out. The kids enjoyed playing with the box while it was built. The could not wait to ride it. The littlest one is two and his older brother is four. They both enjoyed being able to ride it by themselves as well as be pushed. The first version I bought them earlier did not have the handle to make it easier to push. I highly recommend this toy for boys and girls from ages 1 to 5 as suggested on the packaging. There is an optional item you can add that is included for those who are a little shorter and can't reach the ground yet. It is good for use in the home and outside. We use it on the tile and hardwood floor mostly but it works on carpets too. You just need some room to store it. This is the third Little Tikes toy I have given them recently and I really like the quality. It really is much better than the toys from other manufacturers. I have stopped buying some of those other brands because the toys break so easily. Assembly is simple. It took only about a half hour to put together, and once together, it's a really solid toy. My kids love all the fun little details like the horn, the gas tank, and the trunk. It really makes them feel like they're driving a car just like mommy and daddy. It's easily pushable by one of them while the other rides. At 2 1/2 they probably aren't quite strong enough to consistently self-motor but I can see it coming soon. I would say the box states through 5 years old, but I can't see a 5 year old fitting in it that well or having much fun in it. Should last till 4 or so though. Solid plastic construction. Instructions on assembly are about as good as you expect instructions to be. The only odd thing to me was the packaging - sometimes parts you needed for one step would be spread through 3 different bags. So far, my preschool students LOVE it. I can see them playing in this car for years to come. It's push/foot-powered and perfect for young toddlers and preschoolers who aren't ready to use pedals. Be warned that you must fully assemble the car and be prepared with a few household tools to complete the job. A few pieces were difficult to fit together due to irregularities in the plastic seams (lost one quality star for this in my rating.) The picture directions are pretty good as far as directions go, but they could be improved with some written guidance in some of the steps. For parents, I can see it being great to take on a short walk around the neighborhood with your preschool-aged child.
