So you get a hutch with some hay (made from paper), 3 babies with accessories that are stored in the top of the hutch before being born and some celery for the Guinea pig to eat. So to use it, switch on both the Guinea pig and hutch, ensuring to switch to fast or slow birthing. To get Guinea to give birth you have to stroke her and feed her until her heart lights up and then put her in the hutch and close the door. Above the hutch door should also light up. You then have to wait, can be 10 minutes or an hour. When the time is up the latch inside opens and the baby and accessories come through and when open hutch the baby is there. My daughter loved waiting for the babies to be born, you have to do the process for each of the births. Only thing I would say is that once she has given birth to all 3 babies it has kind of lost its novelty. My daughter looks after the Guinea pigs, feeding and playing but hasn&rsquo;t tried to do the births again. Overall this is a great toy, it&rsquo;s fun, different and has provided hours of fun for my daughter, she loves having a pet! It&rsquo;s very easy to set up and I really liked that you can choose at what speed you want the babies to appear either every 15 minutes or the first one after 15 min and the following 2 after 10 hours. We chose to wait 10 hours. Not sure how patient kids younger would be but you can choose the fast setting for them. You can also pop the babies back into the storage and do it all over again. The mummy has 20 different sound effects, one of which is when you feed her and another when you stroke her. She loves all animals but as we're not ready to get one yet, this is perfect. The interactive &quot;Mama&quot; guinea pig comes with a hutch (which is easily carried around as it has a handle on top), a hairbrush, celery, 3 babies, 3 care packs, paper nesting material and an instruction booklet. Basically, by caring for the Mama (brushing her hair, feeding her celery and patting her) her heart will light up. As you feed and brush her she makes happy sounds. The heart glowing and her song let's you know her baby is nearly here. Once you put her back into the hutch (it's important to close the door) her baby will be born in 10 minutes. This is when we sit and think of a name for the new baby and also Mama. Once you open the door you'll find a new born guinea pig with its own birth certificate, 2 accessories and 2 hair elastics. Caring for Mama again will give you another baby. There are 3 babies in total. They are all different with one being Rock n roll, another Preppy and lastly Princess. Making up their names is great fun, as is dressing them and doing their hair. The great thing about this is that it can be reloaded again and again for many hours of fun. Lessons to be learned are patience, responsibility and teaching kindness to animals. I was quite surprised at how large the cage was, I was expecting it to be smaller but the Mama Guinea Pig is actually an accurate representation of a life size Guinea Pig, well similar to ours anyway. Contained within the box was the hutch with carry handle, hairbrush, Guinea Pig and 3 babies, celery, paper bedding and care booklet. The toy requires AAA batteries which are not provided and three of these are inserted just under the handle to the top of the hutch and the other three are inserted into the Mama Guinea Pig by the feet area. Once the panels are secured with the batteries in there is a switch on the Mama Guinea pig to turn on. My daughter loved that she could set up the hutch herself with the paper bedding. There are two settings that the babies can arrive within 2 days on normal mode or you can speed it up by changing the option to the top of the hutch to fast and the babies will arrive within 30 minutes. Each baby arrives with a birth certificate and accessory. This is a lovely idea as you have to care for the Guinea Pig by feeding it, stroking it and generally caring for it. There are 20 sounds and when the heart starts to glow it is time to put the Mama pig back into the cage and shut the doors to reveal her baby. My daughter loved that she could replicate how we care for our Guinea Pigs with the added surprise of babies. The magic could be repeated over and over by placing the babies back in the top of the hutch again and you can mix and match the accessories choosing, Princess, Preppy or Rock Star looks. The fake bedding gets messy so it&rsquo;s really not needed but I get it helps make it more &ldquo;real&rdquo;.
