I got this for my 8 year old son and he absolutely loved it! It was super easy to get out of the package which I thought was gonna be difficult. It&rsquo;s fur is very soft and so is the hair on top of its head. It does need batteries and they are very easy to get in. It rolls around the floor very well. I have linoleum floors and it glides across very well! It just doesn't seem to work as the instructions say. If you pet his head or his back, you don't really get a consistent response. (BTW, when you rub the black dots/buttons on its back, the black rubs off onto your finger and onto the hamster's back!) When it crawls around, it's kinda noisy and it doesn't have a &quot;smart&quot; sensor to help it back out of a corner it's stuck in. It does not really work on carpet, so tile, linoleum, or wood floors will work best. It moves forwards and backwards, so it's fun to watch where it'll go next.
