It really is good for all ages. It's a good size to fit in most hands and the tail helps to balance it while holding it. It whistles its own tunes and turns its head when you pet it. But the best part is recording your own message which is altered to a higher pitch. This is where the fun begins because kids, of all ages, will record new messages over and over again. As an adult, I have enjoyed recording messages for my kids to go to bed or brush their teeth that I can play again and again. The one thing that surprised me was that it didn't include batteries, most toys do nowadays. So keep that in mind so you're not petting and petting the bird and waiting for it to sing like we were. The bird has a good variety of chirps and sounds. The bird is vividly colored with a bright pink body and rainbow wings. I wish the bird didn't have sunglasses on it's head, as it looks a little awkward to me. So I found this bird and let me tell you it has been so much fun to play with. She loves that she can record her self and play it at random times and that the bird actually engages with her. I love that there is no actual live bird to clean up after! My 5yo and 9yo both like to play with it and I like toys that my children can play together. We have Pippy Hippy, a bright pink bird with rainbow wings. The more you pet, the more it sings! It has 20 different bird sounds, so the kids are never bored with just one sound. Her head will move back and forth and she can even repeat what you say, which is what my girls loved the most! It is not cheaply made and even though it's been dropped a few times, it did not affect the toy. I am going to buy a different color bird so both my daughters will have one.
