There are settings to teach numbers, shapes, and colors. Besides for all that, though, there is also a setting of games, where the basket will "ask" kids to find specific items based on their attributes-- e.g., find the item that is square/red/has the number 5, etc. Because of all the features, this toy is really suitable for a wide variety of ages-- I would say about 1 1/2 to 6. We love this toy! It's a great addition to our pretend play "kitchen set" and teaches so many things!</span>

I thought she might be a little too old for this but she loves it. Scanner scans the items identifying name, color, and quantity. This set is fun and educational. It also helps teach her responsibility as she is able to create a shopping list and scan the items and then place them into her basket. The handle extends but it is somewhat difficult for her to extend on her own. That is the only knock on this product as a label on the basket suggest a parent help with that task. Other than that, this thing is amazing. The scanner is completely wireless and came with batteries so she was able to play right away. I'm happy because she is happy. Recommend for the little shoppers in your life.</span>
