It is educational and fun. My three year old was able to play the game by himself after I explained each section to him. The only problem I have with the game is that when looking for treasure, Jake and his crew will ask for you to find something they are standing in front of and you cannot see. That is the only time my son gets frustrated with playing the game. After so many taps of trying to find it, the game will have a yellow circle on top of a character that is in front of the object. After you click on it, the crew moves over and you see what they were asking you to find during the hunt. Other than that, it is a great game. She also loves the pixie dust part, but has a really hard time making the person fly along the maze. I don't know if it's just a flaw or what, but it's hard for me too. My son also attends preschool and is a very bright, just turned 3 year old. But I do have to give this game and one other leapfrog title credit for finally bridging that gap for him between number recognition and knowing what a number really IS. Thank you leapfrog game developers :) Yes the games from leapfrog are more expensive than what you can buy for regular adult tablets, but those games while entertaining and somewhat educational simply do not compare. I put off the purchase of this game for a couple months thinking it looked too hard for my son, but the game adapts to get harder or easier based on your child.
