Seeing as how Lego has a diverse lineup of automotive technic builds available, I figure I could afford to splurge on a really cool setpiece such as this 488 to work on as a fun project. I didn't have any trouble with the large amounts of stickers needed, and found their detailing to the real thing to be spot-on! The build itself was also exceedingly fun, seeing all the suspension components come together for the first two segments of the vehicle, plus the engine was some of the most satisfying building I've experienced. The complete package is just as awe-inspiring to me. Huge, and the functions of the vehicle work wonderfully. Most low star reviews state it is &ldquo;too difficult&rdquo; or &ldquo;hard to follow&rdquo;. I assure you, building this car is challenging, but doable and rewarding. Don&rsquo;t gift this to your 7 year old, but most will eventually get it built if you just pay attention to the details. This Ferrari 488 Gte is extremely detailed (if you could manage to replace the fake motor with a small electric one, Stewart Little could drive this around). Not to mention it looks awesome when built. I chose not to put all the stickers on, as I think some are tacky looking. I&rsquo;m a huge car guy, and who doesn&rsquo;t love legos. I found it extremely challenging, but was able to work through it. This leads me to my biggest complaint for this set, the instructions. The novel that they provide you with to assemble this piece is mediocre at best. There's lots of pages where it's hard to determine what the correct part you want to use is because there are a number of parts that look close enough to fool you. ˇThere's also a number of times where it's not completely clear how an assembled piece is supposed to connect to the main build. I was able to figure it out, but there were a lot of times where it took much longer than it should have. Lego needs to move all instructions in to an app with 3D modelling like the Mario sets. Otherwise the set is fantastic. Lots of cool engineering choices and good use of parts with a few areas where two pieces could be replaced by a single piece, but that's just being picky. I can understand people's dislike of the exterior and panelling, but what do you expect from a set this size and cost for a car with such a unique look. If this were a set like the Sian then I'd expect more. Overall it was well worth the money I paid for it and was enjoyable to build.
