<span itemprop="description">The Bowser's Airship is the best Mario set for display outside of the NES and ? block (at the time of writing). Adult fans will likely have been put off from collecting the Mario sets (outside of the more expensive display sets) due to the sets play orientation. However this is by far the best Mario set for display, which is what I got it for. It's not too challenging to put together and there's enough enjoyment to be had in building and it looks excellent on a shelf for a display piece. Like all the other Mario sets (bar the aforementioned ones), they're too pricey for what they are if you're not a child looking for the play value, but the Airship is by far the best display piece for adult fans of Nintendo and Mario if they want a real display piece from the line.</span>

<span itemprop="description">As a family of extreme Lego lovers, we were horrendously disappointed when we opened the box for this set and found that there were no paper instructions. We play with Legos to get our family off of electronics, not to encourage more screen time. We purchased this set for my son because he loved the boat, it had nothing to do with the Mario line. We did not know that it required an app to build it. We went to a family members house over the holidays and he asked to bring the set with him to build, we happily agreed. however our family member has limited internet availability and their computer what not able to pull up the instructions. We ended up having to use a small phone to build by and it was very difficult for my son to follow, my husband ended up having to help him build most of it as it was too hard for him to follow on the small screen. Now that the set is built, my son loves to play with it, but the process was terribly disappointing and frustrating. I recommend this set as a fun toy to play with once it is built, but not as a fun building toy. Instructions matter, and it was a failing on Lego's part not to include them. Not everyone lives on electronics.</span>

Mr 8 enjoyed building it, but it took a few weeks, 6 hours in total, with a little adult assistance. He loved the theme and couldn't wait to get Mario on it to work.
This set is suitable for 8 yrs or older but younger builders may need help.
We loved that you could build via the app and could see the blocks in 3D form and rotate them to have a good look at it. He really enjoyed the challenge of building something bigger than the usual kids kit. The good thing is its Lego, so it you make a mistake you can go back and fix it.</span>

A great set to use for a rainy weekend or a few days of the school holidays. Our girl enjoyed it as our boy wasn't interested when he saw there was nothing electronic. On downloading the app and opening the box, expected to find a Mario figure to enable interaction with the game feature combining building the Airship in the virtual world while building it in the real world. Only one reference on the box that Mario did not come with this pack. We live 135kms each way to the closest toy outlet where Mario might be purchased, which made it a less interactive experience than it could have been. Everything refers to scanning Mario, but he's not there. Ghosting images in assembly are difficult to follow. All agreed that age should be altered from 8+ to at least 10+ due to difficulties of understanding without a whole lot of adult assistance. Not a family activity with only one phone for instructions. All in all, it was fun.</span>

My son enjoyed building and found it easy although he got bored after awhile and took a few days to complete. He was disappointed that Mario was not included and we were unsure how the barcodes on the pieces are used in the gameplay.
I would recommend this set as its fun and different from others. However, I am disappointed how Lego has transformed over the decades. 40 years ago I used a huge Lego set with men, windows, doors, wheels, roofs to build what was in my mind. Nowadays children simply follow instructions blindly without using the creativity and thinking that Lego was originally known for decades ago.</span>

It took us quite a while to build the airship but eventually got it built Joshua enjoyed looking for the different pieces to help his Dad Joshua loved the way the ship opened up showing you the inside.
Josuha connected with the Lego set theme very well, we also bought him the lego course starter so that he had Mario to play in the Airship with.
I would recommend this particular set to any child the only thing I did not like was that you did not get a book with the instructions you have to look at them online. Joshua will be getting other games sets so that he can interact with the Airship with them.

He loves building and creating and Lego in general. The Lego itself was bagged into separate groups and the instructions were easy to follow. And his older sister insisted on helping family affair to complete it. Lots of fun and the end result was fantastic. There were 13 individual packets of blocks plus the ship pieces.
Master 9 was so excited as this is the biggest Lego he's ever had.
It comes with an app for construction which is very easy to navigate with both forward & reverse arrows.
As good as this app is & it saves a lot of paper, it may be good for customers to still have the option of obtaining an instruction booklet for those who aren't tech-savvy.
Master 9 went straight to work on building his Mario ship; his sheer delight seeing it coming together has been fantastic.
He really enjoyed seeing each component come to life in his hands & he told me what each part/character was.
I'd recommend this LEGO Super Mario Bowser's Airship Expansion to anyone who loves LEGO. I'd say the age 8+ is a good guide but adults will enjoy it just as much.

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As soon as it arrived my grandson ripped it open. When he saw what it was, he was jumping up and down so happy! My grandson is autistic and absolutely loves Lego and a challenge (he is 8yrs old). Straight away he was opening the packages and putting it together. Each time I tried to join in and put it together he would tell me I was doing it wrong (mind you I have never done Lego before). It was definitely a great bonding time as he showed me and explained everything in detail on what to do and what went where. It did take us a while to put together (couple of hours each day after school). Being Mario and especially a Bowzer themed ship made him even more excited especially when he did the claw! The only problem I had was as with all Mario Lego, he needed to use my phone for the instructions especially since he is too young and being autistic rather destructive, he doesn't have an expensive tablet to download the app. Just as a suggestion, there could also be written instructions.</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I built this set with my 8 year old grandson. He was so excited to hear we were reviewing it and looked in the mail for it every day! He already knew the story behind the set, and had a lot to teach me! The number of pieces (over 1000) was daunting (for me, not him), but we soon got into it and were really chuffed to see it take shape. It's ideal for his age group, with a little adult help, and I'd say we talked more during the building of this set than we have over any other task! We didn't do it all in one sitting, as I only have him after school, but over the course of a week, it was completed, along with 2 very happy builders! I would definitely recommend this set for over 8's, with a little adult input. Great fun!!</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yes we liked this lego, it is the first time to be using an app as there was no manual instructions. my son enjoyed this, spend the entire weekend building with Dad. I recommend this to any avid Lego builder especially in times on covid where we as parents just prefer to spend more time at home. this is an activity we can give to our kids and lessend their screen time. much much better!!</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 8yo son likes the fact the Bowser Airship opens out on a lego brick hinge system.
My 8yo did NOT enjoy building this set as it was quite difficult to get the Lego to stay together, when building each section.
He loves the laser character of the ship.
I’d say the age would be better suited to 10+ yo as my 8yo lego whizz, struggled with this too much.
My other son aged 12 (autistic) had far more enjoyment from this Bowser Airship.</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked the amount of detail the overall LEGO Super Mario Bowser's Airship Expansion Set which is extensive. The option of the App to assist in putting together the Airship. This was a fun and interesting activity both my child and I could enjoy together, providing opportunity for us to spend time together doing something that held our attention. I liked that we were able to look for the different pieces and talk about what piece were needed to find next. I liked that my child was able to use his imagination when playing with the ship pieces. From a learning/educational/development perspective, I liked that this was a fun way to talk about colours, shapes and see my child use his fine motor skills to manipulate the various sized pieces into place. I noticed for myself when putting together the Airship, this activity required focus and a sense of being in a mindful state. Very Calming. I would recommend this set to anyone who loves lego or who has never tried it</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] He loved this and we had so much fun putting it together, he loves the LEGO sets and this has been one of the best he has tried. I was thinking it was going to be tricky for him to do as he is at the young end of 8yrs but this only made it more enjoyable for us to do together. Because he's been playing with LEGO for a few years he picked up some knowledge of how to use and build with the blocks.</span>
