Great display and build
I recommend this product for anyone wanting a great clean display set. It is another elastic x wing so it does sag slightly but not anywhere near the same as some of the older xwings, the set could use a few more minifigs but i dont recommend buying it with those in mind. Overall its strength is displayability as its pretty much sole function is the wings opening which itself is quite janky and can take some fidgeting to get to work properly

A Fragile and Disappointing Build
I'm sorry to say that I must echo many of the other reviews here. Unfortunately, it turned out to be our most disappointing Lego build, ever.
The problems come down to this: the completed build is incredibly fragile. I understand that it is designed (and even advertised) for display. But fact is, the model doesn't hold up well even when being constructed.
Body plates are often held to the model with a single brick; if you knock that brick while attaching another one, good luck putting it back (you need a child's fingers in some cases). Likewise, the X-wing deployment mechanism depends upon ... rubber bands. It's hard to imagine those bands will remain durable for very long, even in a display model.
And the X-wings themselves - they neither open, nor close, cleanly. Even when "closed" they maintain a gap.
Worst of all, the stand for this very heavy Lego is extremely unstable. Pieces fall off if you move it from one location to another, and I am waiting for it to collapse entirely.
This X-wing is really beneath the standards I expect of Lego. Buy something else, I say!

A Disappointment
To understand this review, I think it's important to understand the context. The Lego UCS X-Wing is not only an iconic Star Wars image, it's also the OG UCS Set (7191). It's basically the flagship model. It's a big deal and it comes with high expectations.
As a lifelong Lego fan, I've always wanted a UCS X-Wing, but I missed the first couple. I was absolutely thrilled when this one came out, and I had high hpes that I think are reasonable given the legacy of the UCS X-Wing. I was stoked to pre-order it, and more excited about it than any of the other UCS sets I've ordered.
This set - I hate to say - is a flop. It's not terrible in an abstract, fully removed sense, but given what a UCS X-Wing should be, it's a miss. It compares poorly against other UCS sets. The flaws are so numerous, and so obvious, that in my opinion it should have never shipped.
1) The stand breaks. If you ask, Lego will ship you some additional pieces to fix it. Still, ridiculous.
2) You can't fit a minifig in the cockpit.
3) The wings / aspect ratio are just... off. You can lengthen the wings by one stud and it helps, but you shouldn't have to.
4) It's incredibly fragile. Arguably others are fragile too, like the Snowspeeder, but the Snowspeeder is awesome in other ways and still more durable than this. The X-Wing's got a bunch of pieces that just fall off if you touch them. Zero play value, even given low expectations for playing with a UCS set.
5) The wings sag if not in X position, so you can't really pose it. I always liked the vibe of the non-attack-position X wing, but nope.
6) The wing gears loosen over time due to a bad design, and feel sloppy when adjusted. They depend on a plate on the top maintaining tension, and it has a tendency to push up and detach. Not very obvious when it happens, making the set feel imprecise.
7) The greebling on the exterior, and the general detail, is lower than sets like the Snowspeeder, Tie Interceptor, and Y Wing.
8) A lot of visually important pieces are attached by one stud, so they get misaligned.
I'll note that a lot of these issues have community fixes. But that says something; they're all pretty much all fixable, but simply weren't. I have no idea what happened behind the scenes, but the result feels rushed, sloppy, unfinished. Just a bummer.
It deserves the overall low rating, unfortunately, and I wish the designer had done better. This is the only UCS set I have that I can't recommend.

Basically, this model falls apart quite drastically. If you pick it up from the stand, several pieces just falls off. It is to unstable to just hold it with 2 hands. Panels aren't properly secure.
On reading the manual, the designer ABSOLUTELY wanted to get all the details in. HOWEVER in doing so, it wasn't a model you could move.
It says a lot if the manual tells you how to hold the X-Wing. The only way it can not fall apart, if you glue all the pieces together! I LOST my Luke figure because of this shabby build.
It's upsetting Lego would put a model out without product testing. My kid was upset that we lost Luke but fortunately didn't loose anymore pieces. Built it once. Once I held it and things started to come off, it went right back in the box!

The rear side panels are not adequately attached. If you pick it up by the rear section, which is the most logical point because of the weight distribution, you will end up with the panels in your hand. This is due to the attachment points being inadequately supported. The cockpit does not close completely, it springs back open about an eighth of an inch after you close it. The previous X wing kit did not have any of these problems and it was less expensive. there are also red stripe components on the wings that are not adequately supported. I expect way better than this from lego. All and all it is decent if you want to build it and display it out of reach of everyone, but over priced for the quality of the build. Note the photo out of reach of everyone.

I hold Lego to the highest level of quality when it comes to their sets and that's why it's always on the more expensive side and I'm okay with it because the quality is always top tier but this one is a low for Lego and out of the hundreds of sets I've built this one was by far the most difficult and frustrating one to build. It's too delicate and the exterior is not at all structurally sound, trying to attach the wings properly without having anything to hold because if I did it would easily fall off was not an enjoyable time and every time I'd try and fix one problem another would just fall apart making the repetitive process even longer. The good thing about this set is now it's finished it does look very good on display but I wouldn't dare touch it ever again

Decent build experience
In this set it was going great till i got to bag 3 and I was building a side panel and i got a grey 8 stud flat piece instead of the 6 stud flat piece. I looked everywhere for it and no where. I am not going to put on the 8 stud flat piece b/c it would make the X-Wing not pretty. The body of the X- Wing on its side kept falling off connecting to the 2 clips on the left side when looking at the X-wing. It is not stable. It needs more pieces to be stable. I also already had a missing piece in Darth Mauls sith infiltrator and I was already pretty upset that i now have 2 sets with missing pieces. Some things of this set kept falling off whenever i needed to lift up the X-wing. Like for example when i needed to place it on the stand. Some panels fell off and it kept making me angry. Speaking of the stand, on the stand near the top middle-ish there is 2 little circle pieces resting underneath the X-wing, my bags did not have the two circle pieces. So i had to rearrange with two different circle pieces that go on the shooters of the wing instead, (pictures will help know what I’m talking about). But after stress being removed I finally built it and it looks amazing. Especially next to my UCS Falcon. I have never once in my 13-14 years of building legos, experienced a set with missing pieces, (I’m 19). Maybe you reading this will get a different better experience, it kinda felt like I had a used purchase UCS X wing instead of a new one considering with all the missing pieces i had in this one. Enjoy your day!

I hate writing bad reviews, but the design on this X-Wing is pretty rough. The sides of the main body are held to the main central piece by two small pieces that pop off whenever you try and install sections around it. It added a great deal of time and frustration to building. The wings are pretty flimsy in areas, but that isn't the overall concern. It is kind of a bad design and I wish that there were more stability because I can't display it without pieces falling off as I set it up. I decided to splurge on myself by purchasing this set for May the 4th and unfortunately it has been extremely disappointing. The terrible reviews you see are there for a reason. I received my set rather quickly. I opened up the first bag and there’s were pieces missing. Not one or two, but 43 pieces that were not in the first bag of many. Given the price of this set I find it ridiculous for there to be so many pieces missing. And frankly, even with LEGO offering to send every missing piece it’s frustrating. What guarantee do I have that every single bag is not missing a bunch of pieces. Do I have to contact LEGO every day when I find pieces missing? I’m being sent a new set but Lego definitely needs more quality control, especially for the prices we are paying. Think twice, thrice, or 100 times and think if you want to take the gamble. I took it and found disappointment.

This looks cool and the size is great, however BEWARE this set is SUPER flimsy. Once built don't ever touch it again. The nose panels and the body panels are barely being held on. You can not pick this model up without something falling off of it, seriously there is NO good place to pick this model up from.
This is super delicate! I built mine and immediately put it in a plexiglass display (like all my other builds). I had to move the display and basically every panel popped off.
I know you can say it's me not the set, but having built Death Star, Hulkbuster, Titanic, Slave 1, Millennium falcon (table top one) etc... NO other set is anywhere like this one. Bad design.

Purchased this set earlier this year and I have to say I was really really disappointed. Firstly, I had a ton of missing pieces, therefore I was unable to complete the side panels (which are so flimsy it's not even funny) secondly, the build..oh my word it's not fun at all, it is so flimsy it literally falls apart when you pick it up and assemble. The wings only stay in one postion as they are so heavy they are weighed down. And then it got broke in which a few pieces sheered and therefore was unable to rebuild. I have never ever been so annoyed with a set, I've binned it and this has put me off buying future UCS sets. I wish I rewd reviews before shelling put for this.

First of all, this set completely lacks any technic, when I was building the wings, the internal parts of the set started breaking due to the lack of sturdiness. Not to mention, the color of the nose is completely off and I encountered at least 3 missing pieces. The set itself doesn't even look that good the stand keeps breaking. I have built the Tie Interceptor UCS and the Republic Gunship UCS before and have never encountered any building problems. I am extremely disappointed, to say the least.

Don’t understand all the hate for this set and the 3.1 stars! This really is a nice set to have for the collection, the overall aesthetic of it is awesome and I’m glad I have it. This is my first UCS set, the experience definitely meets the standards in my books. Only problem I had was with the build, the technic mechanism that allows the wings to open and close was a bit difficult for me. Besides that, I’m glad I have this iconic starfighter.

Fragile and flimsy
Overall, this was probably my least favorite set I've built due to the how flimsy various parts are and how fragile this is. My biggest complaint is the side panels around the body and cockpit. The larger pair of the two repeatedly broke while attempting to place them on the body and the two anchor points definitely don't feel sturdy enough. The wing mechanism also feels extremely under built for the weight of the wings and is easy to go past the stopping point which required disassembly to fix. Small complaint but the gun barrels have a gap between the white and blue spacers because the rods are too long. This was also the first set in my life that had missing parts. This set was nerve wracking the entire build due to how fragile it is and manipulating various parts into place made it feel like the entire thing would fall apart. Once the set it complete it will only be good as a display piece that I'm afraid to move around unfortunately.
