I finally purchased the gunship and it ended up being so unstable. The gunship will fall apart everytime you try and move it. The back pieces always fall apart because they are reinforced or don't have enough surface area coverage. Also the cockpit is under so much pressure because of how this build sits in its standard. Parts will break under this pressure over time. I attempted to mount this build as well and as yoi can imagine it feel apart and is too unstable to mount. I would NOT recommend anyone buy this set. Very detailed on the hull of the ship bags 4,5 and 7 when you add the armor on the ship. The wings are HUGE and the and so are the doors. I wish the minifigure count was higher because the gunship is supposed to carry a lot of soldiers. But when I got finished I carried the gunship to another spot in my house, and the back door broke. Very fragile. So as I was rebuilding the back door I noticed that the armour that you put on in bag 7 was not fully pushed in. So I took the cockpit off ( bag 8) and the armour off to see what the problem was. I tried to put the armour back on but I could not and now I have to restart completely. Not cool Lego. You will see what I mean in the pictures. I googled the issue to find a Reddit thread in which someone suggested using a different technic piece. It was very fun to build and took me around 7 hours to complete. By the time I got halfway done, I couldn't believe how big it was, you really have to see it in person to get a sense of its size. It is worth every penny in my opinion and is one of the top UCS sets so far. If you build it correctly it is a very sturdy set and the only part that feels slightly fragile is the side door panels. Keep in mind this was designed as a display model and not for playing with. The only minor complaint I have is the minifigure selection could have been better and I would prefer less stickers on a set this big. Some natural Lego frustrations occur, like implosions while building from too much pressure in the wrong places. Some, though, I feel are avoidable through some engineering. I've added perhaps six pieces to the build that adds stability. Two have gone into the rear of the cockpit portion to keep the brace piece from popping out from even the slightest pressure and requiring a disassembly to put it back together. The other four go on the ramp and the door on it. Slight pressure on the door always seem to to pop the entire area apart but can be reinforced by two 2x2 corner pieces and two 1x3's each on the sides of the assembly. The front turret guns' &quot;barrels&quot; were loose, and fell out easily, but the application of a layer of thin double-sided tape wrapped around the base, solved the looseness problem and will stay easily. Others seem to have encountered the problem of the turrets falling off easily. I've noticed that as well. Parts that are easily knocked off while handling in order to assemble could easily be made as last, finishing steps. With the number of times I've had to reassemble the set, I've learned to save those parts for last. The horizontal wing supports extending from the side sometimes pop off during assembly, usually when placing the large wings and cannons on, as well as the front and back cover plate assemblies. It teaches one care and patience, although, can try both when putting the finished piece in it's display spot... and a part falls off. Still, all in all, I'm doing two more of the same set in custom colors. The UCS Y-Wing is probably my favorite build of all time. Grew up with both predecessors that were fun to build and play with. This design, while elaborate and challenge does not hold up very well under any sort of stress. The top half is too heavy for the internal columns to hold without some sort of additional support.
