I love the emphasis on the original film! All of the details and Easter eggs are so well thought out and executed. Definitely a lot of smaller pieces and fiddly bits, which for me is a lot of fun. The pull apart design is great for play or to show off, and the landspeeder and additional spaceport buildings definitely complete the ensembles. I&rsquo;ve done sets with larger pieces but this one was definitely a challenge and I enjoyed it immensely. The building is very large, and is accompanied by a landspeeder and two additional buildings to assemble a proper Tatooine scene. The interior is equally impressive, with enough room for all the characters to be seated comfortably. The minifigures are incredibly diverse and the instructions contain fun descriptions of some of the less recognizable characters for those who are interested. To my surprise, there are a decent number of play features present! A table rigged to knock Han and Greedo out of their seats when they start blasting each other, doors that slide open and shut, a fully removable roof, and plenty of baddies for Luke, Obi-Wan, R2-D2, and C-3PO to contend with. Overall it stands on my shelf as one of my favorite LEGO Star Wars sets. My only real complaint is that for the size and piece count, it feels a bit too expensive. Error the third: the fourth photo on the LEGO website pictures Luke Skywalker (that is Mark Hamill) is pictured lying upon the floor. This never occurs in the film and never shall for Mark Hamill would never put himself in such an undignified pose. Error the fourth: R2-D2 the astromech is horrifyingly over sized being nearly the size of a regular miniature figurines. It wasn't an easy decision but no regrets. The set was fun to build and lots to build. Myself, my son 7yrs and daughter 10yrs were able to choose parts of the set to build. 21 minifigures was the biggest attraction, some very unique ones. The set is solid, makes a great display set and very playable without the annoyance of it falling apart. Easy to move when in play mode. Together with Obi Wan's Hut and Luke's Landspeeder we have a mini Tatooine in the making. This may be partial bias, due to my strong draw to Star Wars, and the originals, in particular; but I think this set provides a really strong combination of features from the original scenes from A New Hope, as well as the inclusion of a rather generous lineup of characters from the film. It's not a cheap set, but given how well built this model is, and the number of features included, I think it's really worth it. I also have a new version of the UCS Millennium Falcon, and despite being something I have coveted since the original UCS set was released, it still falls behind this set in terms of preference. In terms of playability, if that's the purpose, the possibilities are endless for Mos Eisley, and given the design flexibility, in terms of opening up to reveal the bar etc, the display options are solid.
