<span itemprop="description">This set had me running to the LEGO store as soon as it released. In my opinion it's one of the best TIE fighters LEGO has released outside of the UCS range. It's also one of the sets that's been modified the most into other versions of the TIE series of ships. The scale is great when you line it up alongside the play scale Millennium Falcon for example, all the previous TIEs looked too big.
The build was straightforward and makes for a strong model when finally assembled, the wings won't fall off during play which is great for kids who want to swoosh this one around. I really enjoyed putting this one together.
Mini figure selection is pretty good for the price, pilot (as expected), Stormtrooper and an Imperial Protocol Droid NI-L8.
Now the really good point that made me buy another one. You can easily and pretty inexpensively turn this into a TIE Interceptor! Once I saw this from a LEGO fan on YouTube I had to do it, so off I trotted to the LEGO store once again for a second TIE.
I've sung the praises of this one to friend on FB who collect Star Wars LEGO and it will remain a firm favourite in my collection.</span>
