It is my favorite Star Wars vehicle and see it in a massive lego set was like a dream come true. I got a taste with the UCS AT-ST released over a decade ago and upon the announcement of this set I was giddy with excitement. I have collected and built quite a few other UCS sets but none had me as excited as this. The build is engaging and ticks all the boxes: ingenious techniques (as always) by the master builders that leave you wondering and questioning while assembling until the true purpose is later revealed leaving an immense feeling of respect for the way the set designers have made use of all the Lego elements; a variety of Technic and classic Lego brick construction and a melding of the two; plentiful detailing through creative greebling; and, well, how can you leave out the scale of the thing? If I could have one complaint about the set, it would be the panel gaps on the walker's head/cockpit which seem to be an unfortunate side effect of making this set somewhat playable by allowing posing the minifigs in the cockpit or the body of the walker. I think I would have preferred an unplayable cockpit to the displayability being somewhat mired by glaring panel gaps compared to the main body of the walker which are comparatively trivial despite the armor panels being removable to showcase the inside. Otherwise this set is incredible and I love that the legs and head can be posed. As stated before it was a joy to build despite the repetition that was building 4 identical legs. It is quite sturdy although I am worried in the long term about the strength of the neck given that is it only supported by four Technic beams that allow the head to swivel at all. I have seen similar fatigue of the beams on the UCS Y-Wing's engines which I have had on display for 2 years now. In conclusion, this is a set not to miss for any Star Wars fan. I wasn't missing any pieces. The only issue I had was I finished building it at night before going to bed and the next morning I discovered my four cats had decided to reenact the Hoth scene with themselves as the snowspeeders! I walked into the living room and it was in pieces all over the floor. I have now rebuilt it a second time and as this model is very top-heavy and limited on side-to-side stability I have decided to display it on a surface near a wall and am going to work out an anchor point to tether it to the wall. The order was short a couple of small but common pieces so I was able to steal from older kits. That is a little disappointing but then again I wasn't too surprised due to the amount of pieces in this kit. I am sure I would have received the pieces quickly if I needed them.
