<span itemprop="description">Although this set has received criticism for being down sized compared to the other ARC-170 star fighters, I really think this is a genuinely good set. The build experience is amazing, the minifigures are even better I would say. The only down side is the cockpit parts don’t have printed elements. But overall, this set is magnificent, and I would recommend this set if you have kids who enjoy Star Wars, or if you’re an adult who wants the nostalgia :-)</span>

<span itemprop="description">Nice to see the ARC170 again. Very good figures, great improvement. A model of highs and lows. Scaled down from previous releases which is a shame. Some rather odd dimensions, e.g. the wigs seem too short but this can be remedied with the addition of some larger/ extra plates etc., but the body is more of a challenge. It is much too narrow. The nose is also too short, again adding some extra bricks and tiles resolves this. Good shape though. Cannons are another oddity. Overall it has a good appearance and the wing mechanism is great, but that size/proportion issue…</span>

<span itemprop="description">As the title says the build and the end result are really pleasing. The detail is pretty good for this size of model and it’s a great addition to any collection. The mechanism for opening and closing the wings is great and much better than that on some of the larger models. The only downside to this model is that there is no stand included for those of us that like to display not play!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I have the older model. The new model, the wings work much better, the unit is very durable, more detail. The stickers were badly damaged in the box so contacted Lego about this. The older version, the wings are sized much better, but fall apart just sitting on the shelf. This new model the wings appear to small. There is more room in the the cockpit of the older model. In this new model you have to point the Lego man's hands/arms up to get them in. I'm 60 to 40 for this new model over the old model and it was expensive.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This set is great overall. The minifigures are excellent, and the ship looks good from most angles. This iteration is smaller than previous versions of the set, which is fine, although the nose should be a bit longer to be more correctly proportioned with the wings. The cannons are also oddly short but can be easily modified to be the correct length and add in the second smaller cannon. The base is also a bit too chunky in my opinion but slimming it down is another easy fix. The stickers look fine for the most part, but I wish the cockpit stickers were printed on, as the white doesn't match at all and looks very faded. Overall, the build is solid and fun, and the minor shortcomings and inaccuracies can be fixed with some quick modifications.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Overall, I am rather pleased with the build and design of this set. It may be a slightly downsized model, but I don't think the ship suffers from the downscaling in too drastic of a way. It is obvious that the cannons are too short, but I think it's fair to assume there may have been stability issues. Fortunately, this is an easy fix.
I wanted to acknowledge the positives first since I am leaving a negative review. The sticker quality is extremely poor on this set. I've been applying stickers for a long time and honestly have no problem with stickers in Lego sets. I understand the need for them and even enjoy placing them carefully. However, it seems like the sticker material has been changed compared to sets that came out in 2024.
These stickers were much thinner than normal and felt much more fragile while applying. The color on the stickers are also extremely transparent, speaking to their thinness. This causes problems with colors looking faded when placed on a brick of a different color (for example the white portion of the large sticker placed on the grey portion of the main wing is very faded). These were so thin a small amount of dust stuck to the back of what should be an opaque white sticker and was visible through the sticker when applied. Additionally, the white on the cockpit stickers was extremely pale which is not represented on the box art.
Stickers often add important details to sets and are generally seen, at best, as a necessary evil compared to printed pieces so, it seems like an odd choice to move to an option with much poorer quality. As Lego prices rise, it seems unacceptable that the sticker quality should suffer.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I won’t beat around the bush, this set is overpriced for what you actually get. The wings are too small compared to the fuselage, and there are far too many stickers. Once again, the ‘photos’ on the box don’t correspond to reality in terms of the colour of the white stickers applied to the cockpit windshields, which amounts to false advertising. The bottom is excessively blocky and if you don’t put the Astromech in the ship it has a massive hole in the top, which is certainly undesirable. Negatives aside the pilots are great minifigures, although there’s no excuse for the astromech not to have printing on both sides and the pilots could have benefited from dual-moulded legs - the omission of both of these smacks of cheap cost cutting. The ship is generally pretty sleek and the design is clean, so there’s that going for it at least. Despite all the (utterly and inexcusably avoidable) flaws, it’s still possibly the best ARC-170 available at the moment given the price you’d have to pay for either of the older models, and so at a decent discount it’s worth picking up for anyone who doesn’t already have one in their collection, but not at the RRP.</span>
