So far we just enjoyed building those cars. And we did enjoy this one as well hence the high rating in this review. Problem is that when we built the Project one car (not the formula) we found out that one piece is missing. It is just a small brick acting as one of the panels and so far I decided to exclude it in the less obvious place above the tailight. Piece that is missing is 4211414. So far I never had a missing piece and I built quite a big ammount of legos so as for now it is not such a massive deal, I am a bit dissapointed. Other than that nothing wrong with this set so far. He's a little younger than this set is rated and got a little distracted about half way through each car... I guess that's why I'm here too to help. The car zips along floors great and my son is just in love with the F1 car. I like that they included numbers for Lewis Hamilton and George Russell... I'm sure George's Mom and girlfriend will appreciate having the option to put George's number on their =P Is it perfect? No, the stickers at some points were cropped just slightly off but I don't apply them perfectly anyway. The Lego Mercedes speed champions was a really for people who like cars or Formula 1. They had so many details especially the F1 car. I liked all the printed pieces but also the stickers were good. They were simple to display, and they look good everywhere the build was fun. especially because they were two cars it gives it a change so it&rsquo;s like two sets in one. both cars were different, so it kept it fun, and it did not get repetitive. I sat and built the F1 car with my son with no problems, however when it came to building the AMG 1 it was a disaster. I soon realised that I was missing pieces so I rang the help desk and they said the pieces I was missing were from the same mini bag so they sent me the mini bag. 12 days later I began building again only to find I was missing even more so another phone call to Lego to order even more missing pieces. I chose this set because of the F1 car. Overall I am quite happy with my purchase because this was a fun build. I might just buy a second set. On a technical level I would have to say it's on an intermediate level because of all the decals that need to be applied on the vehicle. (Be prepared with a steady hand.) It was a lot of dark pieces, so it was a little difficult to find the parts I needed in a poorly lit room. It just feels right. The wheels are smooth turning, it fits nicely in the palm of your hand and it has a nice weight to it. The building techniques used were very clever, especially on the Project One. Even though the amount of stickers was a bit too heavy for my preference, it certainly enhances the realism of the cars. The stickers was also the reason why I only rated the overall experience at four-stars despite everything else being a five - the stickers in my set was folded and bent out of shape while in the package, with some of them even peeling off. This meant that when I applied some of the longer stickers, they were either not sticking to the surface or has a glaring line right in the middle which really detracts from the otherwise beautiful aesthetics of the models. This set is about the length of a water bottle so if you are looking for a much bigger Formula One piece I would recommend the McLaren Formula One car, which will be my next buy.
