Girls couldn't wait to get home from school to open it. Opening the box, the excitement was contagious, we all couldn't wait to get started. Instruction booklet in hand, Lego app as well, having the numbered bags to correlate with the instructions is so great! Instructions well designed, easy to read and understand. We invited some friends to come over as well to play and set it up, even us mums had a ball putting it together and seeing the moving parts. Seeing the build come together and combining parts we were working on as a team. The figurines are perfect, Ninjago's Kai's Golden Dragon Raider is so fun, so interchangeable, shooting cannons and Golden Dragon blades, the generous 7 figurines and weaponry so multiple people can immerse themselves in fantasy action play at once. A truly fun and immersive Lego set. Throughout the build we found the instructions were easy to follow, though at steps 28 and 29 we did backtrack as the mechanism to turn the cogs was initially tight, and we also did not realise at first that it was limited to a specific range. The reason for this became obvious later in the build. The set itself was a creative build, and it was exciting to see how it came together as new sections were built on. It was also supported by a number of great mini figures, a mix of good and bad characters from the Ninjago series. In particular the detail on the headpieces for the bad guys and dragon Zane. It is great to see how LEGO have developed an exciting brand such as Ninjago which allows them the ability to showcase the brilliant designs of their creative team members. Children were able to work through the instructions easily and while there were some slightly more intricate sections it was completed in a few sittings with minimal adult assistance. Children were very excited at how many mini figures came in the pack and couldn't wait to finish building to see all the moving parts and transform their Raider into different settings. The kids found the blasters to be a great addition and loved they could be removed and used on their own. Lots of imaginative play was had while building and playing either the Raider and it stayed together well through the play. The instructions were clear and the end product was exactly as pictured on the box and children were so happy with how it came together. It was another type of Lego for us to make as my son only has and built Lego City sets. His initial reaction to the set was - Cool armour and swords and also the mini figures are cool. The instruction booklet was very clear and sequential which made building the model straightforward and enjoyable for the child. The simple steps kept them interested. The pieces were separated into 8 bags with made finding the correct pieces needed more easily. The finished model was a nice size and enjoyable to play with. It was a bit tricky in some parts, so it is best for an adult to assist. He was thrilled to open each new bag and create new and exciting additions. The instructions were well written and the diagrams easy to follow. He did lose interest at one point as it became quite difficult, but I was happy to continue with the construction. He was then able to return to complete it. He was surprised with how great it turned out as he said initially if he had seen it in the shops it wouldn't have been his first choice, but once it was completed he was stoked! The mini figs were a huge hit, as was the shooting implement at the back. It also has weapon storage which is lacking in most Ninjago sets and is so appreciated here in this one.
