Looks amazing but don’t touch it!
This was a great build! Lots of fun. I usually build all the sets and my two boys get the minifigs and can play with the set. After rebuilding the section with the broken windows and Green Goblin flying out of it three more times it was decided that there will be no playing with this set. That section is poorly balanced and falls out very easily. It looks amazing, though.
So The Daily Bugle is now sitting on top of a display shelf where the 5 year old can’t reach it and the 11 year old has been told if he touches it he loses his devices for a week.
We do love all the minifigs! Fire Star was a favorite of mine watching the cartoons in the 80s!

Excellent set, but rooftop elements very unstable
First, let me state that this set is a delightful build, great to look at, a treasure trove of minifigs, and has lots of amazing little secrets. Definitely a buy.
However, the main purpose of my review is to point out the design flaws on the rooftop. Most especially the antenna, but also the DAILY BUGLE sign itself to a lesser extent. The roof already can be a bit unsteady to fit on, just to match the studs, but the antenna subsection will break off with the most minor moving about, especially if you try to attach the roof with the antenna already on, as the instructions tell you to do. On top of that, the antenna subsection itself is inherently flimsy and will break apart even separated from the roof, as there are several very weak connection points.
This applies to a lesser extent to the Daily Bugle rooftop sign. But it too is fragile in its attachment, so use caution.
My advice to anyone about to build this set is to ignore the instructions on this point, and WAIT UNTIL YOU'VE SECURED THE ROOF before adding the Sign and the Antenna. It will save you a lot of heartache and re-building the same subsections again & again.
Typically LEGO builds some redundancy into their models for the sake of stability. I'd have expected the antenna and sign to be more firmly secured with axles, pins, or other Technic pieces, or locked into place by some crossbar bricks. I may add these myself for my own peace of mind. As it stands, though, this is my only real complaint. But it's a fairly significant one.
Great set otherwise! Just beware the roof.

Parker! My office! Now!
This is the single greatest Lego set I have ever purchased. It’s got playability, displayability, mini-figs for days.
I’ve seen some reviews speaking to the fragility of the level with Green Goblin blasting through the glass, and I’m happy to report, while it was a small concern when I purchased it, I’ve yet to have any issues.
My kiddos play with the set and I’m able to change the display all the time.
Figures like Green Goblin, Sandman, and the new design of Doc Ock’s arms make this set explosively animated. I particularly like setting up Carnage vs Punisher in various fight scenes, as they’re the worst of the villains and the worst of the heroes.
The offices are wonderfully intricate, if a little tricky for someone with my hand size, but it’s great for the kids and easy enough to get things set up.

Before buying this product, I had to confirm two specific points: 1. the shattered front on the second floor can be rebuilt and 2. this set is compatible with the creator expert modular building product line.
While this set focuses mostly on target customers who love spider man, I am not a spider man person and while this set is whimsical, I prefer the realism, eliminating the super heroes and villains from the set. That doesn't mean I will throw the figures away, they just won't be added to this specific set.
All in all, this set and building each floor is repetitive, my only negative critique is that the designers who built this set didn't include additional instructions, giving the user a choice with the second front, allowing them to decide if they wanted a normal front or shattered front. Being someone who focuses on realism, I had to flip pages and use deductive reasoning to know how to build the front section.
I am very pleased that I decided to buy this set, though it took me a few nights to build, I do hope that lego comes out with additional modular buildings, some tall and others short, even bring back a few that were retired.

Fantastic set with only minor flaws
I was incredibly excited when this set was announced. I purchased it on backorder as a birthday present to myself, and I got it about 3 weeks after ordering it. It arrived in perfect condition, and I was able to get started on it the following day. This is definitely an involved build, as it took most of 2 days, even accounting for the occasional break to stretch my legs. The finished product looks amazing!
Now, the reasons for a 3 stud rating instead of the full 5: 1) instead of 3 random "civilians" and Carnage, there should've been 4 other characters. Personally, I would've gone with Electro, Kraven, and Vulture to have the Sinister Six, and I would've had Iceman to have the Spider-Friends. And 2) the baseplate is super flimsy. I guess it was changed to save on plastic, but really, for a set this big and weighty, that baseplate should've been much thicker and sturdier.

The perfect Marvel minifig display piece!
Spider-Man has been entertaining kids and big kids alike for decades, from comics to cartoons to movies. Lego's 'The Daily Bugle' is a loving tribute to Marvel's most popular superhero and his long and colourful history.
The Bugle itself is a fascinating build full of detail and clever building techniques, with every room overflowing with character, but as well-designed as it is, it works best as a backdrop to the minifigures.
The characters included embody a variety of Spider-Man stories from across the years, such as the comics (Punisher, Daredevil), cartoons (Firestar, Black Cat), and the movies (Ghost-Spider, Spider-Ham, Miles Morales), and plenty of familiar faces from various media (Green Goblin, Venom, J Jonah Jameson).
'The Daily Bugle' is a fantastic background to recreate amazing action-packed superhero battles between wise-cracking heroes and world-domination-intent villains. Various attachment points across the building and colourful blast and web pieces allow you to create epic battles between characters in the urban canyons of a 'typical' New York street scene. If New York was overrun by space aliens and mad scientists every week, obviously.
The build itself is a bit repetitive in places, but this is balanced by every room having it's own style and colour scheme, from JJJ's rich and sophisticated office to the dusty photocopier room with old newspapers blocking a fire exit. Some people may complain that the light grey colour isn't how the Daily Bugle is usually depicted, but as I said before, it is a backdrop to the minifigures, and the colours just pop when seen in person.
If you are a Marvel comics fan, and you want a display piece to show off minifigures (whether just the ones in this set, or others in your collection), 'The Daily Bugle' is a hugely satisfying Lego build. There are some new (and long overdue) superheroes such as Daredevil and Black Cat, and the returning characters are among the very best versions that Lego has ever produced!

Awesome Set, few gripes.
When I saw this set was coming I knew I needed it. Spider-Man is a huge part of my life (I met my wife because of our love for Spider-Man). The set is awesome and a fun build.
However, the whole Green Goblin bursting form the 3rd floor is flawed. Very fragile. I wish there had been an option to keep that floor intact.
Some of the Mini-fig choices (or omissions) bother me. We have Firestar but not Iceman (Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends) and why Firestar and not Johnny Storm/Human Torch. We have Ghost-Spider and Gwen but not a Mary Jane Watson Mini-Fig (This bothers me a lot actually, seems Marvel really hates Mary Jane). We have Blade but not Morbius the Living Vampire? We have Spider-Ham but not Scarlet Spider? We have deep cut characters but we don't have one of Stan Lee (Maybe cause of his passing).
I guess my big gripe is the Mini-Fig selection. Still a fun set. Worth the time and money. Looks great with my Spidey Collection.
Side Note: Left out Firestar and took her hair and put it on Gwen in order to make an MJ. Lame maybe, but it works I suppose.

The build is amazing, took 2 full days to build and loved every minute of it, minifigure selection is asounding even with the reuse of old figures from other set, would purchase for a faithful spiderman fan

This is a really fun set to build it is a little repetitive with the windows but beside the it is fun to build and pose the characters and a good set the add any extra mini figures you have sitting around I personally added venom ham and iron venom to it I would recommend this set the price is perfect for it and I love all the mini figures in it.

So when i saw this set announced i was amazed by how tall it was and with the amount of minifigures included in the set was so cool when i went to Stratford to go and buy it i saw it displayed in the window and I immediately knew I would need a bigger shelf the thing that i love most about this build is the third floor window with the green goblin bursting out of it like he blew it up it really gives the building that 3D effect i have seen a lot of people fix the window but for me this building requires that action otherwise its looks like a plain building but i have to say lego really outdid themselves with this one they hit it out of the park so i am definitely a satisfied customer hopefully more skyscrapers can be built for marvel like a bigger avengers tower in the future but I really enjoyed this build and the small details especially with j.jonah.jameson with the webbing on his mouth great reference to Spider-man 1 2002 where spider-man says “let mum and dad talk for a minute” when green goblin attacks the bugle so thanks lego for including those details

This is an awesome kit! I only have two complaints: The Gwen minifig (not the Ghost Spider/Spider Girl minifig) is a little lacking, and I built it too fast(which is 100% my fault). I'd love to see more Marvel kits like it in the future.

This lego set is Fantastic it’s massive and everything I’ve ever wanted. There’s only two things I would change and those are,electro,rhino,Spider-Man Ben Reilly and Fisk minifigures. I know it’s a picky thing but other than that there’s nothing wrong with it.

Spider-Man’s History in LEGO
What an absolutely Marvel-ous set!! This was so much fun to build. The Daily Bugle is packed with tons of small details for longtime Spider-Man fans to appreciate, and I loved the amount of minifigures and references included from across Spider-Man media (comics, tv shows, and movies). There is so much to love about this set, and I had very few nitpicks with it. Not only does it work as an impressive and large display piece, but it also works as a great addition to any collector’s LEGO city, functions well as a play set for younger builders, and serves as a fantastic journey through the history of Spider-Man. LEGO is knocking it out of the park with their set releases this year and I hope they continue to do so. It’s clear that lots of love went into the design of this set, and it’s easy for a Marvel fan like myself to enjoy it.
