This set was extremely fun to build! I did have to disassemble the backdrop because I had made a mistake somewhere and restart, so you do have to pay more attention to the bricks than other builds. Overall I'm very satisfied with the set, and would love to see more of van Gogh's works as lego, one of my favs is Almond Blossom. No picture could possibly ever prepare you for what it&rsquo;s like to see it up close and in person. I was totally blown away by the thickness of the brush strokes. The painting was three-dimensional. Almost instinctively, I reached out with my finger and touched the painting. In an instant, I swarmed museum security who looked at me with horror. The biggest challenge was with the book and discerning between the subtle shades of bluegreen and blue. But with a bright light, it was manageable. The overall set is beautiful and intricately designed. It makes for a great display piece and would look excellent when hung on a wall. My only gripe while building was the &quot;background&quot; for the picture, made up of hundreds of 1x4 plates. The plates are all close to each other in color, and the directions were somewhat difficult to follow what color plate went where. On page 96 in particular, for step 92, I think they even use the wrong shade of blue for one of the steps. Compare the photo of step 92 with that of step 88, which shows the four shades of blue that are used. It isn&rsquo;t immediately apparent how this set will come together but as with any painting- when you stand back the bigger picture is revealed. Then I sat there for 30 minutes counting the rows in the book and then counting the rows on the set to make sure I didn't mess up; not once but three times just to be sure. The answer for everyone else is 50! 50 blue rows total, and then Lego does the nice little photo at the end of bag five, pg 142 I think where they show the finished product and then all the left over blue pieces! Ya think they could have done that before, or dare I say show Van Gogh holding up a placard with the number 50 on it to signify how many dang rows of blue there are supposed to be! Please tell me I'm not the only one who suffered this?! Lego needs to include more detailed instructions especially on larger, more complicated builds like this. It would help make the experience much more enjoyable; instead of causing anxiety about building wrong and then having to potentially take the wall apart again to fix it. Fortunately I had 50 rows so I was saved that trouble.
