<span itemprop="description">So, after reading several reviews and having already completed my build I thought I’d leave my honest opinion.
Jaws is only my second build, (my first being R2D2), and yes, everyone is right, the bow is fiddly and fragile, so after my first attempt failed, I slowed down, (the excitement of the build and wanting to complete it quickly meant I was desperate to finish it!).
Once I slowed down and used less pressure it all came together.
I know it may sound weird, but I love overcoming a challenge.
The entire build probably took me around 5 hours, (split across 5 days), (and I know some of you may laugh at the length of time it took, but as I mentioned, this is only my second ever build).
I did encounter one other tiny SNAFU when trying to attach Bruce to the base, again, I realised that I needed to use less pressure.
The string from the mast doesn’t leave much room for error, too tight and you bend the mast, too loose it looks naff!
But it’s these little things that make us slow down and take time. I’m a believer that things in life don’t always work first time, and if they did that would somehow be boring.
I highly recommend this set. It gave me so much joy to build, the detail is brilliant, the idea is excellent and the finished product gives so much joy. I even splashed out on a display case for it!
I actually thought the price was reasonable too.

The build experience for the Orca was really fun and seeing that the entire bow section was built upside down. The build for the shark was really fun as well but I found the build for the display base a little bit repetitive but a really good set. The figures are incredible and I love the details on the ship including the interior. I would recommend this to any Jaws or Lego fan. Thank you Lego for finally giving us this set!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I was excited to build this set, and it was going pretty well right up until I had to build the bow of the boat. I'm not sure what happened during the engineering process over at LEGO, but this thing is one of the most delicate and finicky sets I have ever built. Near the end of the bow process, a small piece that is attached near the beginning of that section in the instructions can come off with very minimal pressure applied when attaching the sides. This prompted me to take it apart and try again, thinking I didn't do it right. Unfortunately, it happened a second time even after taking more care to ensure everything was properly built. On my third try, I was able to VERY gently attach the sides without dislodging the smaller piece, however when I finally attached the bow to the rest of the ship, that piece came off again. Since it can't be seen and I am only displaying this, I can let it go. Overall, it's a neat set and cool for Jaws fans. I just wish the engineers had found a better way to make the bow section of the boat.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I have put a few Lego sets together. My first build experience was the Home Alone house. I loved it, took pictures throughout the build, and clocked my time working on the set. It was neat to see the references and how things came together. Ultimately, this has been my experience on every build I have completed so far. From wildflowers, to Jurassic Park vehicles, to the Hocus Pocus house, I have looked forward to my builds.
However, this set did a couple of things that no other set has. It made me consider returning the set and forced me to use super glue to have a few pieces stay together long enough to get to the next step. Putting the bow of the ship together required me to super glue some of the support pieces together - allowing them to stay together as I turned the build upside down and attempted to add the additional pieces to complete the current step. While the directions were adequate in showing how to build this section, the pieces did not supply enough support in order to keep the structure together while moving on to the next step.
Overall this build is fragile. Pieces fall off from picking it up and moving it around. The strings on the boat fall off of the wheels constantly, and pieces of the shark's tail are held on with only a peg or two. While I determine the final home for this display, I have left the piece right where I completed it - afraid to move it more than I need. This is sad because every other set I have completed feels indestructible. I feel that if I were to drop the Home Alone house, there would be minimal repairs needed. However, if I look at the Jaws set wrongly, I need to get out the instruction booklet again in order to repair the damage.
Finally, while this set has more than one way of displaying it, either way results in unused pieces. If you choose to display the shark on his display base, it sort of renders the whole ocean diorama useless. On the contrary, if you display the shark and the boat on the ocean display base, then you are left with half a shark just sitting there.
While I am happy that I purchased this set, I feel that there are many things that could have been changed or tweaked to add strength to the build. I am a fan of Jaws, but building this set reminded me of Jaws 3. It was a Jaws movie, but just not the best one!</span>

Love the buildable shark with optional displays, even though I don’t see displaying the shark without the boat. The diarama looks so good. The only wish I have is that there was a full shark cage, with an optional wetsuit body for Richard Dreyfus’ character.

<span itemprop="description">I absolutely love the way this set looks, but it was impossible to put together. There were two specific pieces in the hull of the ship that continued to snap off, and the entire hull kept collapsing on itself . I must have rebuilt that area 5 times. I finally just removed the pieces and had to carefully put everything in place. I’ve built soooo many sets before, and this is the first one I’ve ever had problems on. I would not recommend this level of frustration to anyone. I even had to go to Reddit the weekend I bought the set to see if I was the only one…and I’m not!</span>

<span itemprop="description">As a lifelong 44-year-old enthusiast, I must say all negative reviews are indeed warranted. The construction of the bow was a calamity. As other reviewers have noted, the blue pieces don't hold attachment if any-and I mean any- lateral pressure is applied when connecting the sides to the internal frame. When sliding the sections of Barad Dur into place, nothing felt "janky". When attempting to slide the bow into place, I felt like I was handling a faberge egg.
I purchased 2 sets upon release; one for myself which I have successfully built and have displayed (which as a display piece I absolutely love), and the other as a gift to my brother's son. I have advised that when they arrive at bag 4 they are in for a lot of frustration.
With the design quality I've grown accustomed to from Lego, it's safe to say I was disappointed in parts of the build. However, given the unmatched quality I've spent a lifetime enjoying, I consider this a rare mistake.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This set utilizes some very interesting build techniques which results in a fairly fragile bow of the Orca while connecting sections. It's a minor annoyance because once it's all put together it's nice and sturdy. Bruce, the shark, is glorious. Perfect!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I was looking forward to this build from it's announcement. I read reviews and say videos of the precarious bow build. Bag 4. I don't think I was expecting it to be as bad as it is/was. I know I'm not alone. Just a terrible build for the bow section and then putting the Orca on it's side to finish the underneath. Not a well thought out or easy task.
Bruce was a joy to build but I am missing a piece though. Missing pieces should not happen when such precision is used in packaging.
I love Jaws and this set when complete is a wonderful tribute. It just was not the easiest total building experience. I am sure most won't have trouble but to those that do. I understand. Might seem crazy that I gave it 5 Stars overall. However, once built if it stays together it looks impressive.</span>
