<span itemprop="description">Reading a review doesn't make me buy, or not buy a set. However, the reviews about this set and the problems regarding construction of the bow are spot on. Would not go as far as one purchaser who claimed that he was so frustrated with the build that he threw it in the trash.
Yes, it is quite fiddly, but once you are through bag 4 it's back to the normal enjoyable build of an iconic movie scene. The main problem is on page 62 part 85. The 2 small blue parts are just too insufficient to hold this part of the build as you end up basically pushing down on a part that is being held on by a single stud, and this is where the problems lie.
I tried this part of the build a couple of times but ended up dabbing a tiny amount of glue, just on this part to keep it attached. It doesn't have to be super glue as Bostik will hold this and it can still be taken apart at a later date if you wish.
Once these 2 small parts have been glued, the rest is straightforward. The rest all clip together, but it is the most fiddly part of the build.
I see no reason to give this a low star rating. The overall set is an excellent display piece.</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jaws is my favourite film ever, so I was very excited when Lego created and bought out this set.
But my word, it has tested my patience. Several times I’ve felt like flinging the boat, the base and the shark at a wall. Structurally all three main components: the boat, the base and the fish are fragile. I had to rebuild the bow twice with glue, and it’s still unstable. The base kept breaking when I built the waves. And the fish is no better. It cannot be played with. I’ve bought a glass case for it and there it will stay entombed forever.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Fun set to build however, like many reviews have said, the bow of the boat is poorly designed. The pieces on the side of the hull are not anchored very well and do fall off with a small amount of pressure. The ropes are tricky to get the length correct, too tight and they pull the mast sideways, too loose and the ropes fall off the pulleys. The shark could have used more teeth in my opinion but overall a great set if you plan to display it and not physically play with it.</span>

Unfortunatly I did find that part of the front of the build holds together weak and the front kept colapsing when i was building it. Got some spares and had to kragle it, first time ever i have had to do this and i have built alot of sets.
It is a great looking set and if you are tempted you will not be disapointed.</span>

<span itemprop="description">As a marine biologist I have conflicting feelings about Jaws as a movie. However, I had no conflicts about purchasing this set on day one, especially after following it on Ideas.
Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to my expectations. Some of the build techniques are as stunning as always, but the Orce and Bruce are fragile, making assembly difficult at times. And while I get that these kinds of "diorama" sets are more for display than play, it makes setting up and changing the display all the more challenging. Externally, this set is richly detailed, but it doesn't exactly live up to my expectations from the LEGO group.</span>

It is so structurally unsound that if it were a building, it would be condemned. While I am happy to have the completed set, it will be quite a while before I can look at it without being irritated, and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. I have a designated LEGO room in my house, but it will be a good long while before I make another Lego set after this debacle. Whoever designed this set should be ashamed of themselves.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I’ve waited for this model for a long while being a huge Jaws fan. The concept, detail and scene are all excellent, but although very clever, the bow of the boat is unbelievably fragile. Move it at your peril. But it looks great, especially in the scene pose.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is the first of 20 plus sets I've wanted to return and or put away and not complete. The design of the hull is absolutely beyond fragile and the slightest of moves will collapse the entire thing. I see on reddit as well many others have dealt with the same issue. I hear the shark build is terrible as well but haven't gotten there and probably won't. Anyways maybe I'll go back to this set, but I'm not in a rush and very disappointed in this design</span>

<span itemprop="description">I rebuilt the bow at least 3 times completely and the sections with the boat registration numbers too many times to count. I finally broke out the kraggle and it has stopped falling apart. Those nasty little curved blue pieces should be glued as well but I did not feel like taking it all apart again.
Lego is supposed to be fun to build. This one is not. Have been told several times to stop or take a break or just throw it out.
This was not engineered correctly.
First time that Lego has disappointed me.
I have “finished” step 8. Not sure when I will try to finish the rest of the build.</span>
