It is rather flimsy, in that it doesn't lend itself to &quot;play&quot; playing - it would be in pieces in seconds! The strings... yeah, not really very good, and they don't sit well even after much fussing. The only part of the build I like is the amp. It has tons of (mostly hidden) features and fun parts that mimic the electronics in a real amp. I assume that this was included so that they could charge a higher amount for the rather so-so guitar. The pedal is an after-thought at best. All in all... No. I wouldn't recommend this unless you are a guitar nut and want this for your wall (I suggest the evit word... Putting the strings on was odious, and there is no efficient ways to tighten them that will hold it taut. The image makes it seem like you would be able to easily switch the body from red to black, but you have to almost rebuild the whole thing. REALLY DISAPPOINTING! I was going to display this next to my guitar, but it makes the model look worse. The guitar looks good although the head stock is out of proportion. However, the real star of this set is the amplifier which is superb. The fake electronics inside are wonderful. I can't vouch for accuracy but they look great. Overall it is a fairly simple build with the guitar strings being the only area that can cause difficulties. You put the strings on loosely and then tighten them by gently rotating the string end studs on the head stock. This a balancing act; too loose and the strings sag, too tight and the string end stud pulls off the underlying stud. One visual negative is the plastic tube that is provided to simulate a guitar lead. Having tried it out I will leave it off as it is way too stiff and does not hang naturally. This set is not great value for money in that it is only a bit over 1000 pieces of which you won't be using a significant portion once you have selected which colour to make. Also time-wise I can't see it taking anyone more than 3 or 4 hours to build.
