<span itemprop="description">I've been building Lego vehicles, including Technics for a number of years now and I was looking forward to the new Land Rover model. However, as per a number of the previous reviews, I had missing parts, found the construction quite 'flimsy' in areas. This is the first Lego model where I was glad to finish and couldn't be bothered with any of the extra bits. Very expensive for what it is, the Technic version is a much better option.</span>

<span itemprop="description">About a dozen or more of the large 1x6 body bricks and some smaller ones, all the green body color, very drastically in color. Some are so light they stand out so bad. I'm really disappointed in spending this kind of money. I have been seeing massive issues with bricks still having a rough edge from were they are cut from the mold too. It's almost like lego is using cheaper materials but yet charging more. I saw this on my titanic build as well as color variances like on this set. Honestly I would give this set 5 stars but the fact this made it off the line with 12+ bricks with very obvious color issues telles me the quality control is tanking. Sad to see lego might be going down the same path as so many other companies, cheeper products same price ore more.</span>

<span itemprop="description">As soon as I saw this model I knew I needed it my collection. Yes it is expensive but it is pretty good value for money. The build especially the suspension is complicated but great results. As others have mentioned the air intake is missed in the instructions but it is 2 pieces and you can see it on the photos. I live that there are so many options and pieces that you can kind of mix and match and do your own thing. The bad, Tow hook and exhaust kept falling off during build. Just take them off and put them on at the end. Due to the suspension the steering is pretty sloppy compared to other Icons models but not a huge issue.

<span itemprop="description">If you are a fan of Land Rover, off-road vehicles, or cars in general, this is a great set to build. Lego put in amazing details and options for the build! TWO different engines, the wench WORKS!!
And the variables in the build. You can make it ready for 8 weeks in the Outback, a street ready no-extras classic, or a stripped down, no roof no windshield Safari special!! Oh, AND right OR left hand steering wheel!!!
My only complaints about the build were the interior should have been the classic houndstooth black & white pattern—Lego should have had pieces printed for the seats considering the price of the model. And speaking of price, for the price we should have had 3D instructions on the Builder app, because this was intricate at times. I think they could have made the snorkel better with 2 of those ‘corner’ 1x1s to make a ‘box’ where the mouth is. Overall Lego did an amazing job with a crazy amount of customization. Pay close attention when building the suspension!!!</span>

<span itemprop="description">This set looks very impressive on the shelf, and is an amazing likeness of a classic defender down to some great details. The interior touches are particularly nice.
I found the instructions were often hard to follow as the added parts weren’t always pictured clearly. I had one bag where I got the wrong part, a four stud instead of a three, however this is not noticeable on the finished product so I got lucky there.
One thing I did find, that I’m surprised no one commented on in other reviews, was that there is a certain amount of structural weakness straight across the middle of the model. By design, the roof doesn’t connect with the windscreen and then because the doors are straight below this you have a point where the integrity of the whole thing runs through a relatively thin piece of floor just behind the seats. Not a biggie I just found it odd. There’s also about 90 degrees of dead zone in the steering which feels a bit poorly designed.
I probably sound like I’m having a real whinge but I actually really love the model it just has a couple of quirks- just like the real thing I suppose!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I take trips in which I will take a Lego model to build - oh and I do not take my tablet nor my computer (you will understand why I brought this up).
Sitting in my cabin on the train and I am about done with bag #6 and I looked ahead in the instructions and discovered that the next section was a complete copy of what I had just gone thru for bag #6 - there were no instructions for bag #7.
What a bummer - I had to wait to get home to use my tablet for instructions. I can’t imagine I’m the only one with a misprinted instruction manual so I’m wondering what Lego is going to do about it?</span>

The front wheels pop off their rods very easily, and the shocks are so stiff that it's hard to display the wheels in an action stance as the truck goes over rough terrain. <span itemprop="description">I had been looking forward to this model since rumours first emerged in October 2022, but must admit I was a little disappointed when the first images emerged shortly before release. While the model looks good with all the extras fitted, the base model doesn’t quite capture the rugged character of the work-a-day Land Rover that I remember and this is what I wanted to try and capture. Therefore I set about making a few modifications, particularly to the windscreen, wing mirrors and wheels, and added extra features such as mud guards. I’m now reasonably happy with the result and think it better captures that iconic Land Rover look. All the accessories can still be fitted with a little modification. In summary a good model with lots of build options, but I feel the base model could have been much better.</span>

<span itemprop="description">The Land Rover classic is a crowning achievement for LEGO designer Kurt Christiansen. Many designers emphasis form over function, provided beautiful display pieces that have little interesting features. Other designers create pieces that incorporate intricate moving parts, that end up as flimsy models, with finishing pieces fighting for space, or not fitting flush at all. When I select a model to purchase, I often check on who the designer is, much like on checking to see if an upcoming movie has actors that you like.
Now about the Land Rover. I have not seen a model where the doors open and close so smoothly and so flush. The over all line shapes of the vehicle are completely flush. The design of the interior is clean and the use of contrast and complimentary colors provide a realistic appearance. I do have one serious criticism: Several times, the placement of a piece is completely obscured due to an incorrect camera angle presented in the manual. The user may have to wait several pages forward to verify their placement.</span>
