You build the vehicles first and then build up the ship itself slowly through the rest of the bags. Some of the building techniques really surprised me.
If you're a fan of classic Lego space themes, or just looking for the baddest looking spaceship you can find, I highly recommend picking this up.
Really cool play functions as well for such a throwback set.</span>

<span itemprop="description">The Renegade was one of my most beloved sets as a kid in the 1980s (still own it) so when I heard that this was coming I knew I was getting it day 1. The build is not complex but still enjoyable. My 6 year old had fun helping me for part of the build. I really like the redesign outside of the front opposite the pilot ship, it needs to be more sloped. Everything else is nicely done and goes great as a rival to the Galaxy Explorer. I hope they continue to release these vintage reimaginings of the classic themes. I would love to see the classic space and Blacktron bases and rover vehicles in the future.</span>

<span itemprop="description">So I love building Lego, but I’m kinda new to this. I’m building this with my boyfriend and I saw the robot guy and was SOOO excited to build him. And then when I do, there’s words on his face.. like the “Lego” plus the serial number or whatever. I was so disappointed.
But it’s still fun! I just wish the little transparent face on the robot didn’t have letters & numbers all over it. :(

<span itemprop="description">I must say, for the price this set is very good. I do feel it captures the Blacktron aesthetic well. I love how the black looks like their old versions. The set is all prints, which is always appreciated. I love the classic style of the prints too. The module design of the set is also really nice, really my only problem was that the set did get a little repetitive in its building at times, and was not as fun as the Galaxy Explorer set that came out before it, but even then, building this set was quite fun. Overall I would personally say if you liked the Galaxy Explorer set, you will likely enjoy this one.</span>

<span itemprop="description">The thing that got me back into Lego after decades was the reimagined galaxy explorer, I simply love it, Lego space brings out the purest old time Lego passion. Naturally I couldn't resist the blacktron cruiser, but what I wanted to see was more blacktron and especially it's largest and most beloved cruiser, the renegade. I just finished building it and it's such a beautiful piece, it felt like an authentic Lego space building experience, it looks like blacktron, it feels like blacktron, it plays like blacktron. It is simply an amazing set. Thank you so much Lego for releasing this one, and please, please continue releasing classic space stuff, I know so many of us love it, I never owned any blacktron as a child, and I always regretted it, and now you've given me a second chance to own beautiful blacktron sets, thank you so much.</span>

Such an awesome set—the modularity is incredible, and it reminds me of everything I love about the classic LEGO factions. No big IPs, just pure creativity, where we could build anything we wanted with the sets we had and let our imaginations run wild.</span>

Would be nice if the docking mechanism coincided with previous remake of blacktron the GWP cruiser set for a better play experience. The box art is terrible, it does not match the other classic space sets such as the remake of galaxy explorer. Compared to the love the remake of galaxy explorer got from the design theme, this set was a bit of a let down. Otherwise a solid set with decent value for money.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I’ve been telling my younger children the early 1990’s were an epic time to be a kid with Lego Space sets. Blacktron I and II, Space Police, M-Tron, Exploriens… those were the days. The Renegade was an excellent build. Straightforward enough that my kids could follow the instructions with me, and a wonderful homage to the original. My kids love playing with it alongside the Galaxy Explorer. Just spitballing here, but it would be great to have, I don’t know, the M-Tron Stellar Recon Voyager revisited so as to further relive my childhood glory days and share them with my children.</span>
