It took them about 1 hour and 30 minutes from start to finish. This set has 505 pieces and was very easy to put together finishing the step by step instructions. Our favorite thing about this set is that it comes with a lot of characters including Belle, Beast, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Phillipe, Wardrobe and Chef. My nieces and I spent time building this set on a Saturday and I was surprised how long it held their attention. They thoroughly enjoyed building the castle, and then spent hours playing with it together. There are fun little details like the rose under the glass dome, Chip the tea cup, and other items from the movie. I had my niece come over and we had so much fun starting to build the Lego Belle and the Beast's Castle! Although we have yet to finish it as it is 505 pieces, it&rsquo;s coming along and is already looking so cute! My niece loves that it comes with 2 Little Belle figures. The pieces are big enough and easy to put together. This is so much fun even in your 40&rsquo;s lol! With over 500 peices, this was a fun build. One thing i liked about when I built this was the ripped portait of the prince and lets not forget the enchanted rose. Perfect for any kid that loved the movie and want to play out the movie scenes or make up there own twist roleplaying it out. Stunning details in the castle and after the built, the castle itself stood almost a foot tall. It use is an eye catcher if its placed in any room. I would recommend this to any Beauty and the Beast fan as you have your favourite play-able minidolls. My daughter is nearly 4 so took nearly 9 hours on and off to build this as I just helped her follow the instructions and helped with any fiddly bits. An older child would take a lot less time. The instructions are really clear and easy to understand with pictures showing every step of the way. Also it comes with a few spare pieces in case you lose the really small pieces which I absolutely loved the idea of. We liked that there were movable parts (dance room, ladder, picture frame) so added another dimension for play. Included lots of characters to create a story. I also liked that beast could be turned into the prince just by lifting his head. My daughter loved building it and has enjoyed creating her own little stories with the castle after it was finished so a good all round toy.
