So much so that he was too impatient to allow me to help me build the organic market. After a while though he seemed more interested in the fruits and shopping bag and then moved on to destroying the market and weights and creating his own 'icecream'. Creative play at its best. Great size blocks and my toddler played with it for a good hour which is an achievement at his age. He sat patiently with me while we constructed it together and was happy to play with the fruits and vegetables. He loves the small grocery bag that came with the set and frequently puts the fruits and vegetables into it as he pretends he is going &ldquo;to the market&rdquo;. He also likes to pull the play set apart and play something completely different, he continually likes to use the scales as a boat and transport the fruits and vegetables around. It was really easy to set up and the pieces were a perfect size for little hands. My toddler really enjoyed the scales which he referred to as &lsquo;see saw&rsquo; and putting the fruits on to see how they would balance. The fruits were quite large and was a good opportunity to talk about the difference in them and if they were sweet or sour. The shopping bag was made of great material that won&rsquo;t break when toddlers are being rough. Also a good topic as most places you need your own bag now for sustainable shopping. The set had good base pieces so that if you wanted to change the set up, you easily could. The market was easy to assemble. He played building markets, selling fruits and vegetables and trading cash for items (with help from mum and big brother). The DUPLO itself encouraged imagination, language development and developmental play. The use of numbers exposed my child to foundational maths while selling items. He also play beyond the market using the DUPLO pieces to build other things such as cars and trucks. Colours are vibrant, expressions on the vegetables are varied and animated. Sufficient blocks to play and create in other ways. Although she is a little bit older than the targeted age group, she had so much fun and was entertained for a while. It really sparked her creative/imaginative side and it was brilliant watching the many different ways she could engage with this product. In the beginning, it was a market stall, she then introduced even more toys into the mix and turned it into a village. It just proves that standalone, or in conjunction with other toys - the possibilities are endless. The lego bricks in general felt good quality and sturdy, and I loved the little addition of the grocery bag that was included.
