Based on the colours, it may be more appealing to girls. It is very entertaining. My kid sat there for hours, building and expanding on generic suggestions from the instruction booklet. It is versatile. The small colourful dots allow the creation of many beautiful designs to decorate bigger objects, also built from Lego eg a stationery holder. Its generic pieces also means more can be created from the same pieces.
I highly recommend this version of Lego.</span>

The magazine that comes with the box provides a lot of creative ideas and I found that they weren’t even copying the ideas but creating their own. I loved this as it kept them so entertained that they hardly watched any television. I found the LEGO® DOTS Creative Designer Box a great idea and so good for their imaginations. The 7- and 9-year-olds are having so much fun with it and competing with each other to see who can come up with the best creation. I highly recommend the LEGO® DOTS Creative Designer Box as it is keeping their minds active and being creative is so much better than having them watching the idiot box all day. With rain expected in Melbourne this week, I expect they will be at it again creating more fantastic pieces.</span>

Some chose to freestyle and create independently, others used the creations in the book. Their designs were incredible!
They’re already talking about what they want to create next time, so this won’t be a one time only, play and forget item which is a plus!
The instructions were clear, the LEGO were colourful and the addition of the letters was a great inclusion.
I asked the kids the best thing about the kit:
-you got to make useful things that you actually use
-using words/letters were really fun as it’s hard to make letters out of normal letters
-it was entertaining
And some constructive feedback:
-more letters please (vowels in particular)
-can we have instructions to make games?
-make the box a little sturdier (ours got damaged in the mail)</span>

Wow was this a treat to trial! The kids could hardly contain their excitement as the packaging box was being unwrapped and all the pieces set out! There were so many pieces in exciting colours and shapes that joined together quite easily. Taking them apart was a struggle though, however thankfully a nifty tool for this purpose was included in the box. The kids started off attempting the design instructions offered in the information book, however they soon went rogue and started unleasing their creativity, coming up with all sorts of designs!</span>

The only negative comments she made was that the pieces were hard to pull apart and that she wishes there were equal amounts of coloured pieces as some colours had more pieces than others. They loved the ideas to make boxes for stationery or jewellery and then decorated them with their own ideas. They liked that there was enough that they could make lots of things and put some dots away in case they wanted to change their design later.</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was very different to regular lego and when I sat with my 7 year old granddaughter she had a lot of fun. The first thing she made was following the instructions which she found easy to follow. She was very proud of her accomplishment and can’t wait to make her next design on her own and not using instructions. She did have a bit of trouble taking off some of the pieces if she put it in the wrong spot so I needed to give her some help.
I would definitely recommend this set as it gets them to use their imagination and make things they can use themselves.</span>

My daughter found it great to be able to make functional pieces which can be personalized and changed around as mood suits & displayed around her around her room. It was very easy and intuitive and to be honest my girl didn't even use the instruction guide. The design guide on the website is very basic and hopibg for more creative options. Fantastic for 7 -12 year olds and great to work together with friends on playdate. Also fabulous option for b'day party where the kids can 'make your own' creations to take home. Great option for b'day presents as well, very unique.</span>
