An absolute value by modern standards. Very fun building process with a fun model and serious shelf presence. The Bat Pod itself is the star of the show, especially if you missed out on the exclusive VIP model years ago. It provides an engaging, asymmetrical build that perfectly balances technic and system parts and culminates in a sturdy, detailed model with only a couple of visible blue pins. It&rsquo;s truly a piece that would be an impossibly fussy MOC just a few years ago, but is now easy to assemble because of Lego&rsquo;s modern parts catalogue and detailed building instructions. And those tires! I missed out on the tumblers, so this is my first experience with that part&mdash;they are massive! I know the construction figures have gotten some mixed reviews as a product concept, and I can see where a single figure may leave something to be desired. But paired with a vehicle? This is great! It reminds me of the scout trooper and speeder bike CCBS set. I think influencers have given these types of sets a bad reputation, pre-judging or passing over non-minifigure sets like they&rsquo;re the only &ldquo;standard&rdquo; form of Lego. The standard here is &ldquo;fun.&rdquo; This is fun, this is cool&mdash;it&rsquo;s a GIANT Batman on a motorcycle that can zip down your hallway and shoot things. Seriously, this is fun for all ages. And the two builds are split into two separate books so you can build with a partner. The massive tire elements in the set are loose in the cardboard box. Lego does this a lot with larger elements like large plates, and I'm usually completely fine with it. However, rubber parts like these tires should not be loose, and my unboxing experience is proof of that. These rubber elements attract dust and dirt quite easily, and when I unboxed this set, the tires came out covered in cardboard shavings and dust. I attached a picture to show that it was pretty bad and really got to me. Lego is usually better than this! I was able to pretty easily rince these off in my sink, but then I had to set them out to try, which delayed my building experience by nearly 2 hours! You have to let these air dry because if you use a rag or something to dry them off they attract the dust and fibers from the rag and then you have to rince them all over again. 2 hours isn't a big deal, especially for an experienced builder like me who has had to clean my Lego tires many times and is already familiar with the process. But again, Lego is usually more tidy than this and it disappoints me. And to an amateur builder who isn't much familiar with Lego, unboxing this set, this could be a make or break for the set. Again, very disappointing, but now to my opinion on the actual set. The Bat Pod itself is pretty good. Would've preferred a pearl silver color for the body (which would've been more accurate) but dark gray is fine. For a playset, the build is surprisingly fragile but not as fragile as the previous iteration of this vehicle (the 2015 VIP exclusive set.) the Bat-Pod is much more accurate than that previous model however, which I like to see! the construction figures are still something I'm indifferent on, I can't decide if I like them or think they're weird, but the dark Knight figure is quite good. However, there is way too much gray and dark pearl gray on the arms and shoulders and the model really needed to be more black. This is an awesome set. It kept my 10 year old busy for days while building it and then playing with it. She is slow and methodical. But the manuals walk you through building it and makes the process super easy. The parts are all separated in separate packaging so you can easily find the pieces you need for those certain steps. The details are cool and fitting. There is a lot of detail and this is seriously perfect for any Batman or DC comic lover. Then you can display it or play with it. My daughter does both. Those doubts were put to rest when I saw the completed model. I received this set as a Christmas present from my wife, who knows that I love LEGO and Batman. The build process for both the figure and the bike were prettyy straight forward. It was neat seeing the bike come together as you advanced through each step. I am very pleased with the overall look of the completed model. The Batman figure looks great. The completed size of the set is bigger than I anticipated. I have built a buildable Batman before, this one felt quicker. But the BIKE. THE BIKE IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.
