<span itemprop="description">This was my fourth Lego build and my first non Technic build. The build was relatively straight forward. I loved the addition of the gold bricks to represent the protective gold foil around the real lunar lander. The astronauts can be posed in many different places to add a little bit more depth to the model.
The instruction manual was very informative and makes a great addition. I learned something from reading all the additional information the design team provided.
The stickers for this set appear to be of much higher quality; made with metallic paper instead of your everyday sticker.
One of the gold flanges needed for the legs was missing from my set. This was the first time a piece was missing in the four sets I have built thus far (totaling over 8,000 pieces). I tend to build the larger sets, so this accuracy says a lot about Lego's ability to dole out the correct parts needed for each set. Lego quickly sent me a replacement at no cost. Thank you.
I paired the Lunar Lander with its much larger sister rocket. It just made sense to build the two together for display. You cant have one without the other.</span>

The gold reflector stickers are unique and I would use them if I had more. The price is not unexpected for the size and price to piece ratio.</span>

<span itemprop="description">It's hard to describe how much I love this set. Several years ago I emailed LEGO to ask if they'd be re-releasing or remaking the lunar lander set from several years ago. They weren't able to tell me anything, of course. So when I saw the first ad for this last spring I nearly spit out what I was drinking. The set is a practically perfect model of my favorite space ship. It looks right on the outside, has a detailed interior, and features separate descent and launch sections. The base even has lunar features and mini fig footprints!
Other reviewers have mentioned the abundance of stickers and that the thrusters stick out too far. I agree with both. Just remove the arm piece in the middle and be very careful with the stickers. Printed parts would've been nicer.
The only other negative is the minifigs' spacesuits. They're literally wearing scuba gear. It doesn't just not look like the Apollo suit. It looks wrong. To whoever thought that up, I give you the words of Vitruvius from "The LEGO Movie": "That idea is just. The worst."</span>

Autre remarque: sur la boite, il figue la plaque "nous venons en paix" (we came in peace), qui est normalement sur un des pieds du module. Hors, il n'y a ni autocollant, ni pièce, donc sur le modèle monté, il n'existe bien.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This set is a nice addition to my LEGO collection. I previously bought the Saturn V rocket set, while at LEGO Land in Florida, and LOVED that set. This set adds to that set by expanding upon the details of the lander.
While the Lander is not technically accurate (scaling, missing elements, etc), it is a wonderful representation of an historic moment and a technical achievement in our story to learn about space. I do agree that printed pieces would have been better given the level this set was, but stickers did not necessarily detract from the beauty of the model.
It took about two hours to build the set and it was a joy seeing it come together. My family loved watching it come together over the Christmas afternoon and they got excited when a stage was done, etc.
I was also really excited because I have had the idea to use the Saturn V Rocket set to do a stop motion video explaining the mission to the moon. This set will allow me to take this idea to the next level and share how they landed on the moon and the activities they undertook.
Overall, this is a great set and well worth the effort to put together. I am sure it will be a part of my assembled collection for years to come.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I am freshly new to building Lego sets and Legos in general. Never was really into them as a child either. Recently I have been trying to find a new hobby and saw someone building these giant complex sets on youtube, and thought huh... that looks way more fun than it did when I was a kid. So, I took a dive and went ahead and purchased this historical set.
I can say I was definitely not disappointed! The build is quite intricate and complex. Though, as a first time Lego builder it wasn't particularly challenging. As long as you pay close attention to the detailed instruction booklet you shouldn't have any problems. The two minifigures are quite cool, but would be better if they had the astronauts' names on them and were each distinguishable from the other. The booklet itself has an interesting historical feature at the beginning followed by neat facts as you build.
The ascent module is detachable from the descent module and contains 3 different compartments that can be taken apart. Both minifigures fit nicely inside, though I prefer displaying them outside.
Overall fantastic job by Lego! I think I bought myself into a new hobby :D</span>

<span itemprop="description">I bought this set to commemorate the anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, so I also watched the actual moon landing while I built the LEGO version. I couldn't believe the sense of excitement I felt as I watched the launch of Saturn V and constructed the Descent Stage. I was immediately impressed with the level and attention to detail with this model of the Apollo 11 moon lander. The Ascent stage was a bit of a race with the trip to and orbit of the moon, but I have now completed the entire lander and base just in time to sit it and play out mankind's first steps on another world and watch it unfold on the screen, too. . . One last thing, this set needs to be displayed alongside the Ideas Saturn V Rocket for the two-part Apollo 11 LEGO display.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Well, this was a no brainer for a couple of reasons. I built the Saturn V Rocket so, of course, I had to build the Lunar Lander. And, again of course, I had to build the Lander given the 50th (where does time fly -- pun intended) anniversary of the moon landing. This was a neat project. Like all my builds, I tend to savor the experience rather than to see if I can match or beat someone's time. Nice attention to detail and the level of engineering that went into the build was on par (really good) with the Saturn V. And the gold bricks are just cool! Nice job, LEGO!
Moving on to the just-purchased Car Transporter that has nothing at all to do with rockets or Lunar Landers or space. But, I didn't need an excuse other than I knew I had to buy it as soon as I saw it in the flesh. It was, alas, another "no brainer."</span>

<span itemprop="description">I had a great time building it. Overall, it is a great representation of the Apollo LEM. I did make some changes to it. I did not like the helmet/backpack so I made my own version of the PLSS backpack. I also made changes to the Rendezvous Radar antenna, S-Band Steerable antenna and one of the VHF antennas. I added a VHF and an EVA antenna. See attached photos.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Bought this with my Father, since he is a huge fan of everything space related, and so am I! This brought back the joy and memories of childhood, seeing all the bags full of pieces was surprising at first, but everything is so neatly packed and organized that it is a pleasure to follow the instructions.
The assembly is not difficult at all, just make sure that you follow step by step and pay attention to how many of each thing you are supposed to put together! Stickers may give some people trouble, though.
It looks solid and makes an awesome piece to have exhibited in the living room! I have my doubts if children would be able to play with it, seeing as the landing gear moves a little.
All in all...AMAZING set, has us pumped for the back-ordered Saturn!</span>
