Had to get another kit- the VW microbus (with the light kit). I'm hooked!</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is a beautiful set that goes perfectly with my Saturn V model and is well worth the money. Other reviews have already stated all the positive points of this set so I won't bother reiterating. There's only two (extremely minor and mostly personal) things that I wish were different. First, I was hoping this set could have used printed pieces like the Saturn V did. I made a mistake with one of the stickers (a small bubble) and so I'm going to see if LEGO will send me a replacement sheet as I can't fix it without destroying the label. Obviously my own fault, but it would have been nice if I could have avoided it altogether. Secondly, I wish the model label used the actual term for the lander (Lunar Module or Lunar Excursion Module) instead of simply stating "Lunar Lander". Again, extremely minor and really just a personal peeve. These points in no way take away from how awesome the set is.</span>

<span itemprop="description">And an awesome build. Really enjoyed each section, especially the descent stage - lots of detail (for the scale), hidden areas, clever techniques.
Would have liked a bit more in the ascent stage if I had to be picky, and while the stickers are higher quality than normal, I still really prefer printed parts (such as the Saturn V had).
However in saying that, it is an awesome addition to my collection, and is currently in pride-of-place in my office. And yes, it does get handled and played with - it is Lego after all!</span>

<span itemprop="description">Lego sets are always great and fun to build. But why still use stickers on the sets? The Saturn V rockets are all printed with no stickers, yet this lander fell back and use stickers instead.
This can't be due to cost concern, if that is the case I rather Lego factor the cost into printing it on the pieces because putting on the sticker is the last thing I want to ruin my build experience.</span>

<span itemprop="description">As a space fan I couldn't wait to get hold of this. I have a lot of Lego and many Creator sets, so I'm very familiar with what to expect.
The build is challenging in places, with a not-quite-symmetry going on and that's a good thing. The final model looks accurate and is a robust enough display piece. I think a UCS style display plaque would've been nice, with a technical outline of the real deal, rather than just a printed name of the vehicle on a solitary tile.
There is also a discrepancy that seems to have gone unnoticed. The tapered, grated, window borders are oriented differently in the instructions compared to the publicity and box photos. You can see that in the build photos the windows form a triangle pointing up, whereas the instructions result in a triangular window pointing down. It's difficult to say which one looks more accurate but there should be no ambiguity.
Overall a satisfying, stylish and collectable model that met my value for money expectations.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This set is just flat out awesome. I ordered it the same day it was released (I was actually checking out the new city space sets when I stumbled across it). This set is so amazing I don't know where to start. The assent stage has a hatch (Wich I was not expecting), both astronauts fit in the LM very well (Wich I was not expecting either), Lego has just rocked it this time. The build was genius. I mean the way Lego turned the ordinary windshield piece into the triangular windows on the LM. And I really appreciate the moon base, it just adds so much. I also really appreciate the way Lego made the Apollo astronauts' torso. Plus it almost feels like I got a set from First Man or something (I always hum the score while landing the LM, it's just so sweeping and epic!)
This was however my first expert set (and if this is yours as well, pay special attention while placing the gold pieces on the side of the LM) you need to put them on the side that the instructions angle doesn't show.)) However I have to say I think I have gotten the most fun out of the build of this set than I have gotten out of any set. Great job as always Lego!
The one thing about this set I can say I didn't like was that no names where assigned to the astronauts, neither where their heads skin colored. However this is a creator set and not a themed move set so that explains that, so I'm happy.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I really enjoyed the Saturn V set, and this Apollo 11 Lunar Lander is the perfect companion for it.
Again, the instruction manual has some history behind the Apollo space project & specifically around the lander itself - amazing to think the lander went to the moon with an onboard computer that was advanced at the time, but would be considered a calculator these days!
No complaints on the set from me, there are a few stickers which don’t detract, and the new gold bricks just add a final flourish to the quality, making the purchase price well worth it. In my mind, I could scale this up to imagine what it must have been like for Neil & Buzz as they approached the moon, still wondering if they’d make it! As you’re building, you can also see the thought that has gone into this set from the designers & working with NASA.
Nice & sturdy when built, sits atop the moon landscape for a beautiful showpiece & one I could see teachers using in science lessons to wow the minds of kids. Don’t hesitate on this one, already on back order just a week after release, you won’t regret it!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I love the NASA sets. I love the attention to detail and attempt to create an accurate model. This set is wonderful but it could have been the best ever. Some of the pieces used are questionable. For example the ladder is silver/gray. Why'd they use black? The plaque is silver, why'd they use black? Why use an entire windscreen when smaller clear peices would have been more accurate? It was a lot of fun building this set, even more fun making it more accurate. Would recommend.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Lego has done an amazing job capturing the look of the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander and it will make an excellent display model with the Saturn V rocket. It was also a fun and enjoyable build.
This would have been a 5 star review but two things let it down.
Firstly I wish that we didn’t have so many stickers and only had printed bricks like the Saturn model. I’m terrible at applying stickers and you aren’t given any spares by Lego. Worse is on this model 2 instrument stickers require precise alignment across 2 plates. Also the lunar plaque looks wrong being all black when the real one was stainless steel with black text
The second problem is the astronauts oxygen tanks look nothing like those use by the Apollo astronauts. I wish Lego had made a more accurate mould. It would also have been nice if the astronauts looked like the real people.
In the future I would like to expand the lunar surface and add a mock of the lunar rover to make it an Apollo 15 lander</span>

I would recommend a new Lego Appollo Command Module as a companion to the Lunar Lamder in the same size ratio. I also own the Saturn V rocket so the Command Module would complete the set.</span>

I shared the build with my daughter (12yrs) who loved it and learned about Apollo facts from the fabulous instructions.
The finished model is in my opinion gorgeous and represents the Eagle extremely well. I always placed the LEM as the most beautiful machine ever built and this lego set has reinforced my view. Well done Lego, and thanks for bringing her to market.</span>

<span itemprop="description">A very good looking model, enjoyable build. Goes well with the Saturn rocket I already have. One little thing would have been a nice improvement, while the gold helmet visors look excellent would have been nice to have had the option of clear visors then the builder could have chosen their preferred type.</span>

And this set is one of the many reasons: historically accurate sets, that not only bring fun and wow, but also that bring a touch of elegance and sophistication, and that also bring a museum look to my collection. This set in a glass display is just PERFECT. It is not a toy to me, it is a collector item. And the exclusive Apollo patch is very cool :)</span>

<span itemprop="description">What an amazing looking set, but I wish I wish I wish that Lego had created a new backpack for the minigures and perhaps printed the body witha flag on the shoulder too. For such a collectible display piece, am I the only one just a teensy bit disappointed by the minifigures which look remakably bog standard and not like the men who actually landed on the moon?</span>

If you are fan of NASA and especially the Apollo Program, then you absolutely need this set.
I watched the Moon landing live, back in 1969, and this set (along with the Saturn 5), brings all of that back to life!</span>

Now I am in the process of building my 23rd kit with the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander and as always I am knocked out by the sheer fun of the ingenious design and quality of the build.
