He was able to do it mostly without any assistance and it kept him occupied for a cold winters afternoon! He is just now transitioning from bigger legos/duplos to smaller lego and this is a great set for that transition. After putting it together he has played with the set for days after. It is so good for problem solving in building the set and imaginative play with playing with the set. He especially loves the guys and the dog. This set is great alone but also compliments other sets to build a bigger play set. I would highly recommend for all kids 5 and up!</span>
