I now never switch it over from the green. It’s disappointing they couldn’t come up with a piece to use other than frogs! Even if the original creator used them they still could have been like great idea, but let’s use something other than frogs. So is it worth the money? I don’t think so! But that’s just my opinion….</span>

The bonsai tree looks stunning both on the stand and on it's own. While the tree stand also looks stunning alone, it combines very well with other lego plants. I have the bonsai tree on it's own with some lego succulents displayed on the stand. They look amazing together! This is a great addition to anyone's lego collection, plant collection, or as a part of anyone's home decor!</span>

Because when I think of bonsai, I instantly think 'frogs', especially pink ones. And let's not forget the fun possibility of planting a smooch on each frog. Who wouldn't want a lounge full of 101 princes? It's like a fairytale come true, minus the castle. Going to the store to purchase more sets just in case the first 101 didn’t work out.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I'd had my eye on this set for a while, so very happy when I received this as a Christmas present.
I've not used Lego for 30+ years, but really enjoyed building this set.
The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. It took me nearly three hours to build, but that was with interruptions. I love the fact you can choose between cherry blossoms or normal leaves. I chose the cherry blossoms, but will look to change them once summer arrives. The tool which comes with it was also really useful, as I did put a couple of pieces together incorrectly.
This may be my first adult set, but it certainly won't be my last!!
All in all, a really enjoyable, fun and relaxing build.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is one of those gateway sets that will make people stop and go "wait, that's LEGO?!" It's a truly lovely little display set that still manages to pack in some clever, interesting, and engaging build techniques. I can't say it was my favorite build - I have never been, and will never be, a huge fan of the repetitive nature of Lego foliage - but using so many little frogs was amusing if nothing else.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I try not to buy too many LEGO sets because I don’t have the room to display them. Often I will keep a build together for a week, admiring my great work, and then carefully pack it away for building again in the future. This one, however, is a special piece. I have always wanted a bonsai but never purchased one for fear of losing it(I have a brown thumb). I also had just come back from a once in a lifetime trip to Japan in March, where the Sakura were in peak bloom. With that in mind and a 10% discount in hand, I snatched this set right up.
I found the build to be quite relaxing and easy. It took about an hour and the direction book was very clear. I love that the set includes the pink cherry blossom boughs as well as the leafy green ones. That way I can change them out to suit my mood or the season. The display stand is also pretty and makes it more of a showpiece.
While it did seem a little pricey at first glance, it really turned out to be a great value for a LEGO set that anyone would be happy to display all year. The only caveat would be that you would need to keep this out of reach from pets and small children suitor loose tiny pieces that make up the “substrate” in the dish.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Pros: building the black container and the wooden pedestal thing was cool; frogs are absolutely adorable (and one of the reasons why i purchased this set); green leaves and Sakura blossoms have their own attachments to the branch ends so you can swap out in a matter of seconds without having to take anything apart, a small detail which I found very useful and well done.
Cons: biggest obstacle was the darkness of the drawings in the booklet--there were no white lines delineating outlines of bricks and I had to use intuition on some steps to figure out where x brick was supposed to go. I'm 34 and have decent eyesight; I can't imagine the struggle if I didn't. That was a poor design choice on LEGO's part. Advice, LEGO: if your step has dark bricks... make white outlines so we can actually understand the illustrations. Secondly, the Sakura blossom building was so tedious. NINETY frogs and THIRTY SIX flowers. Third, my apologies to the designer of the set but the trunk build was just so chock full of random pieces. It still came together at the end and had a good trunk shape, was just as functional as it was designed to be, I just... had a hard time interpreting the logic of the shapes.
Overall, underwhelming for what it is, maybe because I'm used to more intricate sets, maybe because I'm 34 and not a kid, I dunno. I won't worry about returning it since it's already built, but it definitely won't be one of my favorites.</span>
