I used to love LEGO as a kid, and recently got back into it through LEGO Star Wars.
My LEGO Architecture sets allow me to display something I really enjoy while having a more mature aesthetic to them, which is a great plus.
Paris, London, and New York are all excellent sets, and I suggest anyone who likes LEGO and wants a more sleek, mature set to display go for one of these three.

Oh Dear....
Everyone remembers that grey coloured Eiffel Tower from their vistis to Paris don't they? No? Oh good, so it's not just me then! Seriously, the build design was really good but Lego just can't get the basic colours right. The Eiffel Tower is not grey. The Arc de Triomphe isn't white either. An intermediate build which didn't take too long but I was a bit disappointed to find two key bits missing from the kit - unusual for Lego. Fortunately I had some spares - just as well really. This isn't one of the best of the Architecture kits for enjoyment considering the price - a shame because the actual build technique is interesting - it lets itself down....

This is the first architecture lego set I've bought and the first time I've actually used lego as an adult. I found it very satisfying to build and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon I spent doing it. The finished product looks great and I'm going to put it on display until the next time I feel like building it, at which point I suppose I'll dismantle it and build again! I'm going to try some more architecture sets and hopefully they'll be just a good.

Bought this set with the TOKYO one. Very happy about it. Rendition is good, Montparnasse Tower is more beautiful than the real one ;)
My preference goes to the TOKYO set but the PARIS one is a must as well! Many different monuments, Eiffel Tower is beautiful, Louvre Museum, Grand Palais...
Thanks LEGO!

No more skylines please
I wish they would make these seperate from architecture sets. I want to do Lego architecture for its design details and representations of monuments throughout the world this is like an expressionist painting of several building with as little detail as possible. Plus it seems like they are doing so many of these now to fill time between releases of better architecture sets. I feel like I have to buy them to complete my architecture collection but I don't enjoy them nearly as much as the detailed buildings. Lego should make skyline it's own category for those who wish to have more of these. Also the price is going up and I don't feel like they are good value for the price these days. As far as Paris specifically the buildings were mainly repetitive small pieces but the Eiffel was a nice solid design although the scale compared to the building just doesn't seem quite right, could be me. It's alright but I hope the next architecture set with a full building will come soon.

eiffel tower color
being an affectionate lego fan from my childhood i cannot resist to buy some lego for myself from time to time. being an architect, the lego architecture series are a specialty i like the most. i had only one - the trevi fountain in rome (excellent!), but recently i bought paris and san francisco. both are excellent too. knowing paris very well i can confirm that this set recreates the overall atmosphere of the city featuring some of it's most famous monuments. in technical terms i have no objections considering the build quality. i must say that this eiffel tower is far the best - it finally has the right proportions and an overall impression - really great work :) however i have one important objection: the color of the eiffel tower. in reality it is not grey, it is painted brown. i my oppinion, if it was made from brown bricks (as used for the 555 california street tower in san francisco architecture set) it would be perfect! what a pity i cannot change it :(

Wrong depiction of the arc de triumphe
The Paris skyline’s depiction of the arc de triumphe resembles the one in Pyongyang, North Korea instead of the one in Paris. The proportion and roof pieces especially shows the much closer resemblance to the Pyongyang arc de triumphe, which is not a replica of the Parisian one. The LEGO design made a serious mistake for this skyline and should be corrected.

Starting to wonder.....
......why? These city skylines were interesting.....at first. Nothing much to say about this one. If you’ve built one in this series, you’ vet built them all. Not bad, just ‘ho-hum’. Quality of Lego justifies the price. I’m now at the point where I wish this ’theme within a theme’ would move out on its own and we’d get more and larger stand alone architecture sets. These sets would be best moved out of the architecture series and sold as souviners in the cities they represent. I have no problem with ‘repetitiveness’ when building a large structure like the Taj Mahal. But, I do have a problem with repetitiveness when comparing set to set to set......like these city skyline sets.
