He loves building things, so he was thrilled when I gave it to him. The gun is well-made and seems to be quite durable, which is great considering how rough my son can be with his toys. The pieces snap together easily, and it was very satisfying to see the finished product. However, the instructions included in the package were a bit disappointing. While my son was able to complete the first build with minimal help, the instructions weren't particularly clear and only allowed for one build. Also, the targets shown on the box aren't included; all it has is a piece of construction paper with target pictures, so my son had to hand-make it. Despite this, my son still really enjoys playing with the Neostrike gun. He loves pretending he's in an epic battle and shooting at imaginary enemies. And as a parent, I appreciate that the toy encourages him to use his imagination and be creative. Overall, if you're looking for a toy that will keep your child entertained for hours, the K'NEX Cyber-X C5 Neostrike gun is a great choice. They were able to follow along with the instructions and asked for help when they got stuck but it was not often. My husband said the instructions were a little difficult and could have been a little more clear for children. However my son had fun playing with it after it was built and it would still be worth purchasing. Unfortunately he got very frustrated with following the directions and I would have to agree. They are quite difficult to follow and figure out exactly what you are supposed to be doing. It took quite some time and he had to take breaks from it to calm down. Once he figured out what to do and finally finished it, he was quite disappointed that it is very touchy and falls apart easily. You have to be very careful with moving each part to load it and get it ready to fire. It does shoot pretty well once you get used to being super careful. It looks really cool &amp; that he was happy about. If your child gets frustrated easily, this is definitely not a good item for them.
