The size of this sinoceratops works great with his hand size and is easy for him to hold and move around. It has some nice roars which she loves, but it has some additional features that make it an especially good dinosaur toy. Because the legs can actually be moved, this ceratopsian is somewhat posable and is capable of all kinds of adventures it otherwise would be too stiff to fully partake in! It can extend its legs as if running, or climbing. It can kind of actually lay down, which means that often it gets tucked into makeshift &ldquo;beds&rdquo; to sleep. On longer car rides my child has fallen asleep holding it in her lap in her car seat. I appreciate that its expression is neutral, not ferocious or angry looking, so it is like a blank slate for any emotion my kid ascribes to it in play. It comes with her in the car, it comes outside to play with her, it sometimes hangs out on the table while she eats, but of course I had to draw the line at the bath because I&rsquo;m pretty sure it would not be a roaring dinosaur anymore if it went swimming in real water. It is a bit bigger than a lot of her other cheaper plastic molded dinosaurs. The tail comes separately in the packaging but is easy to snap into place. All in all, it&rsquo;s very high-quality. My kid is enough of a dinosaur purist that no, we don&rsquo;t get to call this one Triceratops. It is a Sinoceratops. She will correct us if we call it the wrong thing. Not many toys of this fairly newly discovered dinosaur have been made, so I&rsquo;m glad that this is such a good one! He has a good sized dinosaur collection already, but nothing from Jurassic Park. He&rsquo;s just getting old enough to watch the movies and so the timing is great. He likes the growling sounds that it makes when you raise its head up and down and that it&rsquo;s size makes it compatible with many other dinosaur toys on the market. He also likes the way the legs move (many dinosaur toys don&rsquo;t have movable limbs) and how that makes this dinosaur more fun to play with. The box was intact. One nice thing about the toy is that has batteries already installed. My 8 year son was able to remove it from the box except for the plastic parts underneath. The toy itself is around 9 inches long and 4 inches tall. The legs are poseable and the head lifts up and roars when pushing down on the tail. There is also a plastic piece that slides up that has a picture of DNA on it. There is a free Mattel app to scan the DNA code and learn more about the dinosaur. The graphics of the app are okay- I think it would be better on an iPad than on a phone. There are games in the app, like capture the dinosaur. My son was very interested in the app but the game is basically impossible. I think you have to move your phone to steer the car but I am not sure. We were unable to capture the sinoceratops. I asked my son how he would rate the toy vs. the app. He gave the toy 4 stars, but the app only 3 stars. The overall rating would be 3.5. The toy is 4+. The major issue is that a 4 year old can play with the toy hit the app would be impossible. An older kid would be able to do the app but the game is really hard to play. The Jurassic World line are by FAR our favorite. The quality and features can't be beat. We have quite a collection so far and were excited to add the Sinoceratop to the family. My son appreciates the moving parts and that it makes sounds. My favorite part is adding them to the jurassic world facts app! You can look at the dino in AR, learn about it, change views to check out all angles as the dino moves and makes noise on the screen, and much more. The textured surface adds a nice sensory level to his play. He loves the action of pushing down on the dino to make the head move and hear it make noise. The slide out scanner code also holds his interest. The back and front legs move easily to pose the dino and pretend it is walking. We have just finished the Jurassic parks (again) including cartoon spin offs and got this dino at the same time. It was a risk because they are at an age where they are a little too grown up for some toys, this dino, however was perfect, it's not baby ish, the noise and the look of the dino are realistic l. The dinosaurs head tilts backwards as he stroke it and the &lsquo;roar&rsquo; is far more gentle than others. He treats this dinosaur like a pet.
