He has the older dinosaurs too but this new Hammond collection one is so much more fun to play with. My son loved that they're were so many joints/areas that moved. This dinosaur is easy to pose and move and the material is a softer plastic and not at all like the hard plastic that we often see. It's an excellent toy in terms of quality, especially if your kid loves dinosaurs. Perfect size for the kids to play and attack smaller dinosaurs. It's realistic, the dinos jaws, arms, legs and tail all move. However, I have no problem admitting that I was just as thrilled (and probably a tad bit more)! As a huge dinosaur lover, I have been elated that more Jurassic Park movies have been developed and, consequently, more toys!! The continuation of such historic creatures (and some added creations) has been a great source of educating my son. His thirst for knowledge is one of my greatest joys! Yes, my son&rsquo;s room is full of dinosaurs, and no, adding a bit more is never a problem (at least not for me &ndash; I am not the one stepping on them)! At first, this Baryonyx seemed very similar to a Velociraptor that I got back in the mid-90s, but the points of articulation are much, MUCH more prominent and just awesome! The ability to move the head and neck separately are huge selling points, as well as the mouth, feet, arms, and tail! And, the color pattern is a top-notch addition! I mean...this is just perfection! While I don&rsquo;t mind playing with my son when he grabs for his Anime stuff, the kid in me really enjoys playing dinosaurs with him (again, I admit this proudly)! This Baryonyx is an absolutely magnificent addition to the collection of dinosaurs that I was able to pass on to him, and it travels with us everywhere (and I do mean everywhere &ndash; he will stick it in his pocket like no one else can see that a dinosaur is, literally, protruding out of his pocket. It&rsquo;s cute and ridiculous at the same time). This Baryonyx is in a close second to the Mosasaurus, but the latter is so big that it is next to impossible to carry around similarly. Overall, the Baryonyx&rsquo;s quality of construction is superb, and I am hopeful that it will have a long life, like my mid-90s Velociraptor! Another great creation, Mattel! It is highly detailed and a great size. The articulation is better than any that have come out so far. It moves so smoothly that you can tell this is a higher quality toy. My son was disappointed however, that there was no scan code on the bottom of the dinosaurs foot that he could use to play the game like most Jurassic World dinosaurs have, but that would not discourage me from purchasing this again.
