The track was quite easy to put together, and only took about 10 minutes to assemble. She played with this for hours and it&rsquo;s quite versatile because you can use your favorite hot wheels cars and really uses your child&rsquo;s imagination. The cars go pretty fast and it was fun to see them go up and then storm down the big hill. It took my husband and 7 year old daughter about 30 minutes as a few of the pieces were not labeled. Once they got it put together, they have been having a great time with it. It does not work with all her cars, but it does work with a lot of them. I also love that she can connect it to other tracks. And it seems to be very durable too, as my one year old has tested that aspect. My biggest complaint is the overall footprint of the track, it says you can condense it for storage, but it is minimal. It had all the pieces and the instructions where easy enough to follow. But unfortunately it doesn&rsquo;t work with very many of her cars. It also was difficult to get more then two or three cars going once we did figure out what ones would work. It&rsquo;s hard to get the cars to crash when you can&rsquo;t get them on the track. It does require D size batteries, which is not the best feature but also not the worst. Not all of our cars were able to run the whole track but this set does come with one car that did. Our kids have a lot of Hot Wheels cars and not everyone worked well on the track, but those that did were lots of fun to zip around. Multiple cars could be launched at once which added to the fun! We really wanted to love this trackset, but had some issues with it. My son is 9 years old and wanted to put it together himself. This set is not very easy to put together - definitely in need of parent support. This could be solved if the track letter labels were clearly printed in a color (black, for example), instead of being embossed and found in varying places on each piece. The labels are hard to find, hard to read and cause confusion when putting this set together. Some pieces are not labeled at all, so you just piece them together by their shape. Directions could also be written more clearly. This seems to be true of a lot of Hot Wheels play sets, however this is our first encounter with this issue as we only previously had very small sets. Construction struggles aside. D batteries are not ones that we just have in our house. So, that required a separate trip to the store to purchase. For the number of batteries and additional cost, I would want this trackset to do more than it does. Additionally, it would be great if this set came with an additional car. One of the &quot;features&quot; is the potential and actual crash that can occur on the track. This is hard to simulate with just one included car. On the plus side, without batteries, the trackset &quot;works&quot; even when you just release cars from the higher tracks. We also liked the storage slots for additional cars on the sides and the handle at the top for ease of moving this large set around our home. Bought the the triple loop set that you had to smash/hit in order to make the car go. Could never find the right smash. This set with a motor works perfect. Multiple cars can be used at the same time adding to more fun. A would advise to not use open wheel cars light the Rigor Mortis. The motors rollers tend to bend the axles. Although some cars are not the right weight, your little ones will have a ton of fun finding out which ones are great for this track set. First off, kudos to the Mattel company for understanding how parents and kids sometimes struggle to first open the box of a new toy. The easy-to-open tabs and perforated cardboard openings eliminated the need for dangerous scissors or pocket knives to open the box. We have been so used to hard-to-open packages that we were ready for some major unboxing when we noticed the easy open tabs. These easy open features are a lifesaver and please emphasize their presence on the outside packaging. Being able to open a package easily makes the purchase of a fun toy even better (and can be a major selling point)! The instructions to put the Hot Wheels Sky Crash Tower Trackset together had numbered steps and very detailed pictures included. Considering the large size of the box that this toy came in, would it be possible to print the instructions on slightly larger (maybe full size?) paper in order to see them easier? The details were so helpful in putting this track together because there are a lot of different pieces in many different positions. After putting the Hot Wheels Sky Crash Tower Trackset together and installing the batteries, the kids gave it a test run. Be prepared- the cars will go SUPER fast along the track! The cars literally zoom around the track and then are propelled again for another loop, continuing until the track motor is turned off or a car accidentally flies off from the increased speed or angle. We counted at least 50 non-stop loops around the track at one time! With all of this action, the Sky Crash Tower Trackset is a bit louder and faster than other Hot Wheels toys but kids have so much fun that it really isn't a major issue but an included warning might be helpful. Since there is a motor that propels the cars quickly forward, kids should take care not to touch that area of the toy and keep objects and hair away from this area as well. Potentially the track sides could be slightly higher to keep the car on the track better but we didn't notice any major problems with this. It is also important to note that the Hot Wheels Sky Crash Tower Trackset can be used to teach kids about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) based on how scientific principles are at work while the toy is in use. For example, the speed of the car zooming around the track has to be fast enough to carry enough energy from the car in order to perform the jumps without the track underneath. If the speed was increased from this amount, the cars would not be able to stay on the track with enough gravitational force and would be slung off of the track. Also, kids can learn about the differences between potential energy and kinetic energy as well as other physics principles. From an educational and marketing standpoint, exploring the links with other toys from Mattel to educational principles and standards could help parents to choose these toys for their educational content. It does a great job at shooting the car straight up in the air and zooming around the track. My son likes to put his top cars into the tower storage on the sides. His favorite thing to do is race 2-3 cars at a time and see how many laps they can do before they run into each other. We recommend putting the track up on a table when in use. The only down falls with this toy were the instructions could of been easier to follow. Matching the letters made it easier to put together. If my son was able to use all types of hot wheels on this track we would or rated this EXCELLENT. We have over 100+ hot wheels and only about 1/3 of them work on the track. I will say the hot wheel car it came with works perfect though. My son loves this track! He would and has recommended this toy to his friends. Seriously, it is compact, easy to build, and loads of fun! To start, there is a handle at the top to transport around the house. This is something my kids like to do - I guess each room sets a different mood for play. When you launch your hot wheels vehicle (it includes one car) from the booster, that car takes off and zooms up a verticle ramp and takes air, then seamlessly lands on the next ramp with such precision that it is truly a joy to watch. There is something so satisfying about watching Hot Wheels zoom flawlessly. Even more so, my boys absolutely love it! As far space, it's about 2.5 feet high and is pretty compact when fully built. The legs that hold it up have cubbies to park your Hot Wheels cars (it can hold a little more than 20 cars). We also have the Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage (which also rocks!), and they actually can connect together using extra ramps that are sold separately. If you have extra boosters, you can doctor up a sick track with any one of your Hot Wheels sets! You will need four D batteries to power the Hot Wheels Sky Crash Tower, so make sure to include them if you're giving this as a gift. We had this set going for over an hour straight after building, and the launcher did not skip a beat. As a parent, I highly recommend this set for little kids! The only downsides are that most of his other hot wheel cars don&rsquo;t do well on the track, just the one that came with it. He has tons and he has tried them all. The other downside is that after really a few minutes the track starts to come apart slightly at the &lsquo;seams&rsquo; where the tracks meet and eventually that leads to the car being flung off the track. Other than these two things he has been loving it! The setup is a continuous loop, so you can place a car on the motorized track and watch it go - until it inevitably flies off. You do need to test out which cars can run on the track, as heavier die-cast pieces will likely not make it up the initial ramp. You'll basically need something close to the included car. First off, it&rsquo;s huge so make sure you have room for it. Second, follow the directions exactly, pieces are labeled and the directions are a little complicated. Once it was built, which took about 20 minutes, the set looked amazing. my son loved watching the cars race through the set. He added as many cars he could to the set. Be careful to not stay to close, if a car comes off the track it goes flying through the air and can hit you.
