The controller only has 2 joy sticks - 1 goes forward and backwards and the other right to left. It is well made and easily handles running into furniture and the occasional wall. It&rsquo;s easy to control and drives very smooth. It keeps him occupied for a long time because it&rsquo;s on the smaller side so he can drive it basically anywhere. Battery life is impressively long too! My child is 4 and the controls are fairly easy for him to use. He loves the tiger shark design. We mostly use the truck outside but works just as well inside too. I was surprised to find out it uses AAA batteries in the remote and the truck. I&rsquo;ve had a few other similar size rc cars and most either have built in rechargeable batteries in both the remote and car or at least the car. The standard batteries instead of newer Lithium batteries hold this truck back on performance and fun. Insert the batteries it needs &amp; go! The RC car has an off &amp; on switch but the control doesnt so batteries tend to not last long so make sure to get good batteries.
