My 4 year old couldn't wait to load all his monster trucks on this super monster truck then have them all launch out off the awesome ramp, but fate said &quot;not today&quot;. We unpackacked it and the top rack was already bent right out the box. so it hits the cars on the bottom rack which causes the cars on the bottom to jam when launched out. And don't bother letting your kid drive it over bumps cause any small amount of jarring will cause the gate to pop open. Very dissapointed. We figured since it was hot wheels, we could be certain of its quality. Maybe we got a bad one. Once I put it together, though, my son couldn't wait to play with it. He had a lot of fun racing with me at first, then when I stopped (of course I got tired of it before he did!), he still had fun playing by himself, seeing if the left car could go faster than the right, seeing how many targets he could hit, etc. For the first few days, it was the last thing he wanted to play with at night, and the first thing he wanted to play with in the morning. His interest waned a bit after the first few days, but he still likes to have races with his friends. To me, there are two small drawbacks: the first is that it only comes with one car, but for car lovers like my son, he already has plenty of others he can use on the second track. The first is that the way it's designed, there's no way to connect other Hot Wheels sets (unless I'm missing something), so it's pretty much limited to racing the cars in a single loop and having them return to the starting point. That seems to be more of an issue for me than for my son, though--he's sure having fun with it! The setup was very easy, so we were ready to play in around 5 minutes. The idea behind the track is simple, each side has three yellow pieces that they have to &quot;blast&quot; out by smacking the launcher and sending their car around the loop. We tried this a few times and quickly realized it is a pain to pick up all 6 pieces and reload them. Instead my kids were happy to just launch the cars around the track without having to pause and reload the yellow pieces. This lead to us figuring out that if you hit the launcher hard enough you can send the cars flying a good distance. A safety concern for sure and any bystanders should not watch from in front of the track or they will get hit with the cars. We tried attaching some additional track like suggested but the angle of the ramps make it unusable in any form. It was easy to set up and I love that it is a small size with tons of action. I have 2 boys ages 3 and 5 and they both equally love this set. They can both have their own launcher which leads to much less arguing. It comes with one car but we have plenty of cars already. It is easy for them to use and depending on how hard you launch the cars there are things at the end of the track that will pop out. Even my 3 year old had no trouble putting these back in. I highly recommend this set especially if you don't have room for lots of track. It also breaks down quickly and easily for when it is time to end the day. The kids are able to get it back out and reassemble without any help from Mom. Woohoo. Oh and the launchers will work with other tracks so the cars can go flying with other sets. It took about 10-15 minutes to put together and is a nice size - it does not take up too much room but is still quite fun. When my son first saw it he was really excited to try it, but was so hard on the part that you push down on to make the car go that I was convinced he was going to break it, but he didn't and totally enjoyed how rough he could be with the toy. My daughter, who is rather dainty, actually LOVES the toy! She could play with it for hours - whether using it with some of our other hot wheels toys, lining cars up on the track, or just gently pressing the lever to make the cars go, she is totally entertained! I also love that it is not a loud toy at all as some of our battery operated Hot Wheels toys are quite loud. While my kids are using it, it is easy enough for them to do on their own - the pieces that pop out (as they are supposed to) can be easily put back in by both of my kids - my son is 5 (and the size of an 8 year old) and my daughter is 3 and rather small. My five year old plays with it for hours. It's great because it's possible for him to easily race two cars even though he's an only child. When the cars round the bend little flags and trophies go flying, which he really likes too. We have never triggered all three pop-ups on one side but we are working on it. It was more difficult to assemble than most of his hotwheels tracks. My son would have been frustrated doing it alone. It's kind of a one-time setup rather than something you take apart each time. He is able to add tracks to it though and use the trap doors. This toy took my husband about 20 minutes to put together, meanwhile my kids were breathing down his neck excited to play with it. When it was finally done, the kids raced to try it out and 20 minutes later they were done. First of all, the cars kept sliding off the track. In the booklet that was provided there were tips for better play. They suggested that you didn't pound on the levelers that released the cars but hey, the kids are 6 and 8 and it was more fun for them to pound on it. Easy setup, about 10 minutes, straight forward directions. Both my 5 &amp; 7 year old boys loved this toy! Shooting the cars onto the track and watching the pieces pop out is a lot of fun, and has turned into some fierce competition! Mom and Dad also join in! We have a collection of 100+ cars so the boys will give each car a try which keeps them busy for quite awhile! There was some frustration when certain cars weren't the right fit (shot off track, didn't return to launcher, etc) but not enough that it stopped them. The directions do suggest using low profile cars, with no spoilers . 2 thumbs up from the boys, as well as myself!
