The directions were simple to follow. The stickers to the kit were easy to get in the correct spots. Once together, it was hard to get the truck to hit the spot to make the tower fall. It did not stop the kids from using it. There was some assembly required. It can be played with, but would probably be a little more engaging for some kids with more parts of the set. Although we are avid Hot Wheels fans, there are some things better left to be in a set. Unfortunately, we do not have the rest of the set that this would go with. It is fun to play with, of course, it's Hot Wheels! The Truck doesn't quite smash the car the way we expected it would, but it is still enjoyable. Although I must admit the truck itself has proven to be the most fun of the playset. Putting it together is simple, as most Hot Wheels products are. The truck is meant to hit perfectly on the target, which makes the tire press down on the cars and crush them. Some children may find this part to not work properly, but with a little bit of practice, they'll get it. The parts are durable, the stickers go on nicely, and it can be used for all kinds of open ended play. It kept my son occupied to say the least. I was right there with him and the construction of the item is solid. He's rough on toys but it holds up and nothing broke. No sharp edges to be concerned with or small parts. Snap a few pieces together and thats it! The monster truck is cool, it has wobbly axles that mimic a real truck. The fact that you crash the truck into the the lift and then it topples over is the cool factor and kept us entertained time again. I don't think there is anything I would like to see changed except maybe the packaging. It was a little difficult to open but I think it's more of a theft prevention design and in that case it definitely works well. Always amazed at the products Mattel comes up with. We'll be looking into an expansion pack or additional sets with more trucks this weekend at my sons request. The box is very appealing. He was super excited to open it and begin playing. Set up was very fast as easy. He started off playing with the monster truck. Once all together we were a little confused by the directions. We figured it out and he started playing. It is not easy to knock the tower down. Its actually very difficult. Its also very loud. Because its not easy to knock it down he lost interest very fast. Its been sitting out for a couple days and hasnt been played with since we first put it together.
