My kids, age 3, 5 and 7 all enjoyed playing with these character cars. They also really enjoyed the packaging where it was like a suprise to open little doors to get the cars. When you open the package, you get to pop each car out from under their character. I thought this was a nice touch. The cars themselves are sturdy and made well. They feel substantial and really represent the characters. My almost six year old isn&rsquo;t incredibly familiar with Mario and crew but was very excited for the cars. She learned about them and raced them. She keeps going back to them over and over again. They have kept her attention and are holding up well. Hot Wheels did a great job putting each character into a vehicle form! It came in great packaging and the way the cars are displayed, can take them out easily and put them back in. My son and I collect Hot Wheels and although my son plays with his Hot Wheels, he chose to hold on to this one for his collection. Great detail and uniqueness went into each car. The set comes in a nice cardboard box and can be used to store the cars if you want. The set comes with 5 hot wheels: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi and Bowser! The great thing about these are they are compatible with all the hot wheel sets so you can use them in whichever ones you already own. The kids had a blast saving Princess Peach from Bowser in all the different courses! They have loved the Hot Wheels Mario Kart cars. While these are not Mario Kart, they are fun interpretations of the characters in Hot Wheels form! The packaging was fun, too! There are less pieces coming from the cars than the Mario Kart cars, so these actually seem much more sturdy. We have had to glue back several pieces that have broken off the Mario Kart cars, but I don&rsquo;t see that happening with these cars. The packaging is bright and fun as well as makes a nice place to store the cars (if you want). The Super Mario characters are represented well and in a fun way with great details on each car. The paint is bright, and there are fun metallic touches. The cars are durable and don't easily get nicked when battling. We immediately opened the box and got all of the cars out to see which were our favorites! One of my girls really loved the Princess Peach car and the other really like the Yoshi Tow Truck. For myself, I really liked them all and as usual with Hot Wheels I was impressed with the detail and quality of the casting. I would highly recommend this set for anyone with or without kids. The cars came in a package of 5: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi and Bowser. As a collector I thought the cars were cool and unique although more mature looking for Super Mario and my favorites out of the lot are Princess Peach and Bowser. The Princess Peach car has a shiny gold interior with jewels on the back just like a crown. The Bowser car has his distinct spiked shell and surprisingly the spikes are soft rubber which is great for kids. The Super Mario and Luigi designs are a little creepy because they look like character heads but with black eyes. The Luigi green is metallic unlike in the Luigi green in the series. The Yoshi tow truck is a good concept however loses the youthful playful nature of the game character. My almost 4 year old son however did not play with them for more than 2 minutes. He ran and grabbed his Hot Wheels Mario Kart cars which are much more kiddy looking and in-line with the Super Mario video game series to play with them together. Then went on to play with something else which is not typical for him and a new toy. If you are on the fence about whether to get the Hot Wheels Super Mario Kart cars or the Character Cars for a 3-6 year old, then I highly recommend going with the Mario Kart version and my wife agrees.
