I was surprised when I looked at it when I got home to see so many changes from the original game. The pawns are not the plastic gingerbread men and there are no cards, instead there is a spinner. I did not read the box and just assumed it was like our traditional Candy Lane game (my fault of course) When we opened the game we realized it did not come with playing cards instead it had a spinner and the little men you play with are different. My son who his 4 was a little sad since he liked his original Candy Lane game better. The game was still fun but you have more of a chance to be sent back then in the old game do the spinner vs a one time card thing. It was a cute twist, but sometimes old is just better! We still had fun as always!
